Giants vs. Cowboys
Giants+3 -105
My Bonus Play is on the NY Giants at 8:20 ET. The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, longtime NFC East rivals, square off in a SNF contest at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tx. Both teams sputtered offensively in their respective season-opening losses, as the Giants lost at home 15-10 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Cowboys lost 16-8 at Carolina. Neither team wants to be staring at an 0-2 start, especially playing in a division featuring the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. Dallas swept the season series in 2017, outscoring New York 49-13, and the trash-talking has already heated up between the rivals.
The Giants were only able to score 15 points against Jacksonville's outstanding defense in Week 1 but rookie RB Saquon Barkley (2018's No. 2 overall selection) finished with 106 yards on 18 carries in his NFL debut, while scoring the Giants' lone TD with a highlight-reel 68-yard run. WR Odell Beckham Jr, who missed most of last season due to a broken foot, had 11 receptions for 111 yards. QB Eli Manning threw for a modest 234 yards without a TD and one INT (67.8 QB rating). New York's lone TD came after it had fallen behind 20-9.
Dallas did not get on the scoreboard until the fourth quarter itself, in last weekend's 16-8 loss at Carolina. The Cowboys managed only 232 yards of total offense, while allowing QB Dak Prescott to be sacked six times. Dallas' passing game struggled with the departures of longtime standouts Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. Prescott threw for only 170 yards without a TD or INT. RB Ezekiel Elliott finished with 69 yards on 15 carries and scored the Cowboys' lone TD.
Yes, Dallas dominated New York in last year's two meetings but the Cowboys were just 3-5 SU & ATS at home in 2017 and this year's edition does not look much like last season's 9-7 team. Manning has 49 career TD passes against Dallas, his second-highest total versus any team (he has 51 against Philadelphia), and I'm of the belief that the Giants are the better team. Take the points.
