No one is arguing that the "hot" team is not factored into capping a game. But when a team being "hot" is your only reason for picking a team you are going to end up on the losing side more times than not.
UVA was the better team. No question about it. They are national champs, period.
Any argument otherwise is just sour grapes from someone who fell for the "hot" team angle. They lost their money and are mad grasping for an excuse as to why they lost.
If I had a nickle for everytime I heard from someone about why they were on the right side of a losing bet...well you know the saying.
UVA won the game in OT, needed a big three to get it into OT, got the fortuitous calls in OT, and they're national champions. They also covered because of OT
That makes them better (or at least the winner) for one shining moment.
TT played better against much better competition, UVA was the luckiest team to advance to the finals while playing against maybe the weakest opponents of anyone to ever reach the finals. the way Tech was playing down the stretch, over an extended period of time makes them the better team.
Using your one game logic, you would have to conclude that Maryland Baltimore County was "clearly the better team" in 2018. Take your win and run, stop with the nonsense
I made a ton of money on TX Tech betting them every game. Nobody can say that about VA, who was actually 1-5 ATS at the end of regulation and behind in three games in the last 13 seconds or less. Never seen before, never will happen again in our lifetimes
