I'm leaning towards bluegrass cat. Will try to hook him up with bombs Sacred Light and Oh So Awesome.

I think High Finance is a good bet against as he is a front runner from what I understand. At this length it would be virtually impossible to win as a frontrunner. If the track is wet he would have a better shot but probably not.
I am betting against High Finance in a matchup with Jazil.
I think it will be Jazil or Sunriver winning it. Sunriver won the Peter Pan. Good precurser. Well rested.
Bob and John was spent after 1 1/8 in a race before the Derby. Can't see him lasting this length. I like Sunriver against him in a matchup also.
I think Jazil finishes strong and wins it.

This is a common misconception about the Belmont. Deep closers almost never win this race. It is usually won by a horse with tactical speed. I'm throwing out both deep closers for the win.

I handicapped the race and projected Sunriver to run a 104 beyer, Bluegrass Cat a 103, and Bob and John a 99, but there is no value there. I'm going with Oh So Awesome as a nice longshot. So far he hasn't shown the same ability as the rest, but his sire is a Breeders Cup classic winner, and I think he could surprise with some very vulnerable favorites.

Steeser is right that it is hard for a deep closer to win the Belmont. But it's also hard for pure speed to do it. In the last 15 years only Commndabale in '00 did it wire to wire.

Do agree with Steeser (and DRF editor Steve "I got my job thru the NY Times" Crist) that Oh So Awesome is decent longshot gamble. Never beat much in Europe, but bred for dirt and distance, and first time Lasix today.

The logical horse, tho, the best of a bad lot, is Bob and John.

Sure, Secretariat and Man o War in a stealth exacta. Hard to determine betting value, but the spiritual value is immeasurable.

Steppenwolfer will get the cash at the wire. Exacta on top and hope for a longshot second.

Can't say I'm going to play this race with my own money as I don't have a real conviction on the race, but if I HAD to, I'd play Deputy Glitters at a BIG price.

Proceed at your own risk.
