Skybook no free half point for hoops!

I'm sure this is the case for MANY...if they are losing so much money maybe they should stop giving out TV's every other day and stick to the original business model...

I was going to say the same thing. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth but they need to take care of the bettors first, the ones they make thier money off.

All good books have something unique about them and the free half point helped put Skybook on the map and made them a MUST book to have.

Without it, they are nothing. No reason to pay full juice, and not have early lines, free wd, loyalty points, props, team totals, etc.

All that will remain are minimal players qualifying for contests.

That's true, but not that valuable in college, the only real strong one is 10 in NFL, not many 14's, no 21's.

I'll say they return the half, at least for some amount.

They shouldn't lose offering the half point. If the standard line on an NBA game is 6, and Sky books it at +6.5, -5.5 ( -110), they have to get middled more frequently than once every 21 times ( 4.76%).

Does any number hit better than 4.76% of the time ? I don't think it does. Of course they can get middled/ sided on any number, it's like booking it -102, -103 or so. They have to view it as getting other action, offsetting a low hold on NBA.

The closest would be laying -6.5 and taking +7.5 in the NBA in your scenario(the number 7 being the most live number in the NBA).

If both lines in the above scenario were taken at reduced vig of -107 or less, it would be a small win for the player overall.

Wait a minute...how can they cancel the promo if, when I initially deposited into Skybook, that was the promotion they offered? The free 1/2 was literally the ONLY reason I deposited into Sky...and when I did, I got the free 1/2.

Now they can just cancel it on me? WTF?

probably a disclaimer in there saying it can be changed at any time. You can always draw it out, right ? If you need rollover, then football will have to do.

I think they cave, and give back their trademark bet, otherwise they will lose too much business. I think I showed it is still profitable to book this.

I hope they bring it back ASAP...otherwise I'm out for sure. Lines come out way too late for it to be worth it otherwise.

with many people's schedules, losing the half point kills skybook's value b/c the lines are posted later than books like Pinnacle. Also using Pinny's reduced juice and drop-down menu, can arguably get same/better value than what you'd get at sky even with the half point many times...

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if this is a marketing ploy. They did this last year, and brought it back in time for almost all of the NBA and NCAAB seasons. Get people talking about Skybook, how great the place is with the half point, then, "well, we just love our customers so damn much we're gonna keep the half point for just one more year, OK?"

Then most everyone on here will post "YAY Skybook, place rocks, etc etc etc", and in comes the money.

Just re-upped with them a few weeks ago and asked this specific questions to the live help rep. She stated that the free 1/2 point would be offered for BBall. Still have the conversation saved on my computer!

W/o free half point, I am not going to wait on thier lines to come out. Too much value passes me by.

I was told the same thing via live chat about a week ago, this is pretty weak if this is true.
