He was an executive advisor and now he's a "cancer"? Seems like the same ole JJ Gold to me. He's a first ballot hall of fame poster imho. I say bring him back.

He was an advisor to the ownership? Not a paid poster an advisor? lol
He always said he was a professional poster lol I guess he wasnt lying. Guess if he was an advisor to this board he is due more credit than people give him.

This is all too funny.

I just have to ask. Why would a posting forum need freelance advisors. lol

There are very few, if any more JJgolds out there. When you can get their assistance/talent, you grab it. To much experience to pass up. To bad it didn't work out.

Not one of these explanations make any sense....so the obvious answer is that he was paid to post period...

Anyone that thinks they hired some kind of advisor to the board and paid him to tell them which posters should stay or go.....that's a little bit of a spin job if you ask me...

But in either sense...it's up to the RX what they want to do....if they paid him theyr paid him

If you had a forum, I doubt you'd be saying that. To me, Hall of Fame Posters are RESPECTED. While I liked JJ at one time and thought he brought value to this forum, he has these psychotic breaks which annoy and hurt other people...

He has no boundaries and can run other quality posters away as he did over here...

Our traffic picked up when we let him go...

Now that it has been established that JJ was a paid poster, I'm sure many are wondering WHO ELSE is or was a paid poster?

How about it, Shrink, has Rx ever paid anyone else to post here? Are there currently any paid posters?

Also, if Rx is willing to pay posters in order to generate traffic, it makes sense that the mods compensation might be tied to the number of posts they make.

So, how about it, do any of the mods have quotas/goals/expectations for the frequency of their posts?

Its certainly Rx ownership/mgmt's right to run the business as they see fit, but we readers/posters have an equally important need to feel we can adequately judge the credibility of information that appears here. Knowing whether posters are being paid is important to that end.

I can think of 3 since I came along as a moderator in mid/late 2002. As of now, I don't know of any.

The mods are only asked to monitor the board for trouble. I have never suggested any sort of Quota and none were ever required of me since my coming along.

I hope that helps in your determination here. :103631605

Thanks for answering, General, although my question was really directed to the Shrink. Nonetheless, who were the three paid posters that you know of?

I only answered because I know SHRINK is away for awhile. He may share a different view on the matter. I will not throw names out but it should be fun for some of you "So concerned" to try and guess. Enjoy.

General. Why the sarcastic attitude implied by your "So Concerned" use of quotation marks? You don't think it is relevant to know who is being paid to post here?

Imo The Mods Are Technically 'Paid Posters'...so what?

The Mods Have Put In Countless Hours, I Repeat Countless Hours, Its Not A Job You Do Entirely For Money..the Rx Has Treated The Mods Well And Imho Each Mod Has Done A Great Job Over The Years In Many Ways....whether It Be Contests, Topics, Or Helping Other Posters...a Lot Goes On Behind The Scenes.

tryingtofade,

Nice spin job on your wording but to quote The General accurately, I believe he said he wanted to have some FUN before revealing who USED to get paid...

I didn't detect sarcasm anywhere...

It's all good...:howdy:
