favorable terms means above market value, maybe something like they cover any tax implications

I wouldn't expect you to comprehend anything, you never have

and if they get something above market value, that would be favorable terms, and market value takes into account earnings potential. Try not to show a complete lack of understanding of the business world.

Ahhh....nice change. You said favorable terms for the Sterlings in your initial post. Typical of you being all over the place.

The Sterlings will make so much over their purchase price of the team it will be ridiculous.

This is a forced sale....that isn't even a question. How you can't comprehend that is unreal.

You should also stick to what you know.....still undetermined what that may be.

I never said a single, solitary word about how profitable the sale would be, or whether it will be "forced" or not, he bought the team for 12 million, obviously he's gonna make out well, I SAID, that when the next NBA season starts, the Sterlings would not own the team...and they won't.

It will be extremely profitable and it is a forced sale. Wrong way just doing what he does.....making moronic claims that have zero validity....dont worry, after the team is forcefully sold and the Sterlings make a quarter of a billion.....wrong way will go poof and disappear and not speak of the subject again.....that is until he pops up for some more wrong way stuff. Wash, rinse and repeat for that guy.

It's not a "FORCED" sale if Sterling & Co agrees to sell their property. IRS will treat this as a voluntary sale.

Forced sale is when the NBA takes over the Clippers and sell it without Sterling consent.

They're two different scenarios and tax implication of forced sales are more favorable than voluntary sale.

It looks as if the "two lawyers on CNN" were wrong

Los Angeles (CNN) -- The NBA will proceed with a vote to force a sale of the Los Angeles Clippers, rebuffing an effort by co-owners Donald and Shelly Sterling to sell the franchise voluntarily, NBA spokesman Mike Bass said Friday.
"We continue to follow the process set forth in the NBA Constitution regarding termination of the current ownership interests in the Los Angeles Clippers and are proceeding toward a hearing on this matter on June 3," Bass said.
His announcement followed reports earlier Friday about how Donald and Shelly Sterling agreed to a voluntary sale of the NBA franchise as the league prepares a vote on a forced sale, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Here is why the NBA is refusing

There are contingencies in the agreement, a second person with direct knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports. Shelly Sterling has agreed to sell the team as long as she retains a minority interest in the Clippers, according to the second person, who also requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the negotiations.

You're just as bad a reader as the putz whose balls you're tonguing-why is that not a surprise? I didn't SAY I'd seen it on the internet, Jagoff, I said I saw it on CNN.

For someone so concerned about reading comprehension, you might want to realize he never said you saw it on the Internet.

I'm just glad "two lawyers" can convince you of, well, pretty much anything.

Somewhere akphildelt is smiling. I hope he comes back to give an "I told you so" to some but I doubt it.

Since the silly little kid never predicted any of this, why there would be an "I told you so" isn't clear.

wow Sterling is just gonna bend over that easily? I thought his RX legal council said he was gonna fight until the bitter end?

Wasn't this supposed to be tied up for years?

The NBA is forcing them to make the sale and it will hit the free market where they will get 1.5 billion or whatever.

There I just saved you guys 9 pages of debate over the technicality of what a forced sale is.

I dunno

Other than to say selling an NBA team in a top 2 media market right now is going to be "favorable", I guess

If anything happens with kicking in for the tax sale, I'm guessing that all takes place behind closed doors and isn't reported. Although I doubt that would happen.

If he caved in, why can't Don actively look for buyer (s) and negotiate the sale himself? :think2:

Because he probably has other things to do that are way more important to his finances right now.

Like hiring the best divorce lawyer he can find.

What is more important that the Clippers right now? If he caved in so did his wife, would it be more political correctness if they can publicly apologize for his remarks and proceed with voluntary sale?

Gotta be some strings attached to the deal Shelly offer the NBA which they flat out rejected it and decided to proceed with the hearing scheduled on June 3rd.
