Rushing the shooter takes courage but it's the best thing to do in order to save lives asap. Not pulling out your gun and taking cover behind something and exchanging fire while he's still shooting all over the restaurant with a high powered rifle. With as common as this is happening....I wish more people think to do this if given the opportunity

If you're eating in a Waffle House and a guy comes in and starts shooting, and you have no weapon, you're not there to save anyone's life but your own. That means taking cover and getting out by any means possible.

I'm sorry if that sounds callous but I'm not there to save the cook, the waitress or the other customers.

It does but how does one person having another gun even really help unless you are well experienced. Because a pistol vs a high powered weapon.....you don't have much chance. Then he has the ability to shoot more people while there is a shootout in a waffle house while the shooters take cover. Then the cops show up and they most of the time won't know who is the bad guy.

Rare? Maybe. But most of these crazies who do this are some pussy ass bitches, they all have that in common. Take away that high powered rifle and they go running.

It all depends. Several factors come into play like the space, the experience of the shooter, your experience, how many times he's already fired etc.

I'm good with a pistol so it would just take a couple of seconds to get it out and engage but I don't own a gun so I'd be fucked.

Got to wait for the opportunity. If you're shooting out with dude there is no opportunity from a distance. You can say he could sneak up on him and blow his head off...but most people with a gun are going to find cover and start exchanging fire. When you don't have a gun...yeah you are going to tackle him, get to the distance where he can't shoot that big ass weapon at you and fuck him up stab him in the eye with a knife. Better chance..unless we all carry these Ar-15s everywhere we go. But that's stupid.

And it's easily obtained (or was) and it's the weapon of choice for people who want to kill as many as possible in a certain area and in a certain amount of time. If you have one and only one person to kill maybe someone shows up with a pistol. If it's an AR -15....he's coming to kill everyone. Good idea to run.
