15* on Jacksonville Jaguars +7.5

20* No Doubt Rout on Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 -110

Take the Phillies on the run line over the Pirates on Thursday. Philadelphia starter, J.A. Happ has been outstanding in his 17 starts this season. He is 8-2 on the season with a 2.61 ERA and 1.93 WHIP. On the road he is 5-1 on the season with a 1.85 ERA and 1.10 WHIP, and in his last 3 starts he is 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA. He'll square off against the Pirates' Charlie Morton, who is 3-6 this season with a 5.21 ERA and 1.58 WHIP, including a 9.49 ERA and 2.27 WHIP over his last 3 starts. With big edges in pitching and offense tonight, jump on the Philly run line.

15* on White Sox/Red Sox UNDER 10 (+100)

Play on the Under in tonight's match up between the Chicago White Sox and the Boston Red Sox. Chicago starter, John Danks has been on a roll lately, winning 2 of his last 3 starts while earning a 1.66 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in those appearances. All three of those games stayed under the total. Red Sox starter, Junichi Tazawa has shown some promise, particularly at home where he is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. The good part about Tazawa starting is that they will likely limit his pitches, meaning the Boston Bullpen, which happens to be one of the best in the American League, can take over and finish the game out without many garbage runs being tacked on.

Cincinnati Bengals -3.0 (-110)

The Rams are 1-5 SU & 2-4 ATS the L/6 times they were installed preseason underdogs, and they’re 0-2 SU & ATS as a road pup of 3-point or less the L/3 seasons. They’ve also played to the ‘under’ on 5 of 6 NFLX occasions when playing on 6 or less days rest the L/3 years. The Bengals are a poor 1-3 SU & ATS their L/4 home preseason games under HC Lewis, but did cover both home NFLX games back in ’06.

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners - Mariners (Davies/Fister) -155
Game Date:
8/27/2009
Note: I am going to split this wager at 1/2 Moneyline and 1/2 Runline of +140 which will cut our risk in half and give us a push on a 1 run win. The Board this evening looks a bit iffy at best but I do think that we have a very high percentage opportunity to get this one in the books. Although they are not considered one of the front runners to make the playoffs, the Seattle Mariners are still hanging around the AL wildcard race. The Sputtering Royals are in town and Seattle remains at home after a 3 game sweep of the Athletics. KC arrives in Seattle following Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Cleveland, its sixth defeat in seven games. The Royals have had very little success lately, going a major league-worst 8-19 since July 29. They have to travel now and they have not done that so sportily. Pitching continues to be their biggest problems and their Thrower tonight has certainly done his part. He is coming off a poor performance and he will be facing a Mariners team who banged him around goodly earlier this year. Let's not even talk about the Royals Bullpen. I have covered that on numerous occasions, and they will be worn to the bone after the Twins series. Our pitcher has been magic since being called up with 3 quality starts and he will have the advantage of never facing this Royals team. I know that the Mariners will be without Suzuki tonight but the fact is, they are 9-2 this year without him. I do think that we have a very good shot at a 2 or more run tonight and we have a Marvo shot at just winning the game.

1-Unit Play. Take ‘Over’ 37.5 Jacksonville at Philadelphia (7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27)
Philadelphia should be looking to make a statement tonight and I expect a sharp showing from Donovan McNabb and the offense. The Jaguars gave up 24 points to Tampa Bay's offense last week and I will go out on a limb and say that the Eagles attack is much, much better. Philadelphia has gone 'over' the total in both of its preseason games this year and Jacksonville is 1-1. I think that getting to see Mike Vick in the second half against backups and third-string defenders is also a huge benefit to us. Even if I don't expect to seem him look good throwing the ball he can still run and can still move the chains. I expect to see plenty of offense throughout and I think that the Eagles might reach 30 points all by themselves.

NFL PRESEASON PLAYS

1 Unit Play. #254 Take Cincinnati -2 ½ over St. Louis (Thursday 8/27 7:30 PM)

St. Louis could be the worst team in the league and last year at times the Rams were horrible. The Bengals defense looks improved this year and tonight with no Marc Bulger the Bengals “D” should dominate
