Just wondering, CPAW....

Do you gamble and if so, what are your picks, if you do not mind posting?

Thanks and Good Luck

Bonus Play

Vin Mazzaro has had three straight good starts for the A’s while Ian Snell is coming off of his best start as a Mariner. Add in that neither team has faced tonight's starter and go Under.

A pitching matchup between Vin Mazzaro of the Oakland Athletics and Ian Snell of the Seattle Mariners may need seem like an obvious Under at first glance, but a close look reveals that Under is the play here.

Mazzaro had a terrible start, but he has appeared to turn a corner lately, as he has allowed three runs or less in each of his last three starts. Yes his stamina is a question mark, but he has the support of an excellent Oakland bullpen that has posted a 2.91 ERA over the last 10 games. It also helps that the Mariners offense is hitting just .251 as a team while averaging 4.00 runs over the last 10 games

The Oakland offense has been even worse, averaging 3.80 runs over this same span. This should make life easier for Seattle start Ian Snell, who is coming off of his best start in a Mariners uniform as he allowed one run and four hits in 5.2 innings vs. the Detroit Tigers last Wednesday. This is also his first career starts vs. the Athletics, which should work to his advantage.

In fact, this will also be the first time that Mazzaro has faced the Mariners, so we expect both offenses to struggle against these unfamiliar pitchers tonight.

Free Pick: Athletics, Mariners Under 8½ (+100)

Not sure if anyone really cares or not, but I thought I'd post this just in case... Coach K, the guy I've been following since June has now signed up with Sports Money Managers. If anyone wants his plays or other cappers plays on that site for free you can just call them or email them and say Coach K sent you for a 3 day free trial or something. I don't know anyone else on the site so I can't vouch for them but here are Coach K's plays for today. Sorry I'm late if anyone was looking for these but I got out of work late.

Coach K

Monday night radio show play GC-

On Monday night the big 12-1 system total is on the Over in the Oakland at Seattle game.Rotation numbers 967/8 at 10:10 eastern. What we want to do in this one is play the Over for home teasm like Seattle that are off a road favored loss of 5 or more runs, scoring 4 or less runs with no more than 1 error and the opponent scored 5+ runs.In the pitching matchup its I.Snell for Seattle and his 7.30 home era,vs V.Mazzaro of Oakland who is sporting a 5.22 road era. These 2 guys arent scaring any one off this year.In Snells home starts he has gone over 6 of 8 times and has a 8.31 era over his last 3 starts. Not what the Mariners were banking on when they aquired him from Pittsburgh. In Seattle this year 2 of the 3 have gone over thus far and this one should go over the total as well.Take the over 8.5 runs For 4 units bol GC-

Monday's Play
5 Dime - Colorado (Marquis) - 1 1/2 Runs over San Francisco(Zito)

The Chicago Cubs practically gave away Jason Marquis during the offseason. Tonight the righthander takes the mound at Coors Field seeking to become the National League's first 15-game winner as the Rockies attempt to open a four-game lead over visiting San Francisco in the wild-card race.

Marquis, who has won his last two outings to improve to 14-8 on the season with a 3.58 ERA, has a 2.30 earned run average in eight career starts versus San Francisco. He's also pitched well at home this season with a 3.86 ERA in 11 outings, and the Rockies have won 16 of his 24 starts overall.

Colorado is coming off consecutive comeback wins against the Giants, following Saturday's 14-11 triumph by rallying for two runs in the seventh for a 4-2 triumph on Sunday against San Francisco ace Tim Lincecum. The Rockies have won six of their last seven games with the lone loss coming in Friday's series opener and they're 16 games over .500 on the season, including 10 games over the break-even mark at home where they've won 25 of their last 35 games. By comparison, following back-to-back losses at Coors, the Giants are now 28-37 on the highway.

San Francisco sends Barry Zito to the mound and although he's pitched well most of the season, the lefthander has been continually victimized by a lack of offensive support as the Giants have averaged a league-low 2.9 runs in his starts. Zito carries a 4.52 road ERA into this start, a number that is not surprising considering he's allowed 102 baserunners in 73.2 highway innings. And tonight, Zito faces a Colorado club that is 13-7 at home versus southpaws, winning 10 of its last 11 against lefties.

With San Francisco losing three of its last four, and the Giants repeatedly failing to support Zito at the plate, it's worth the investment laying the 1 1/2 runs with Colorado to make Marquis and the Rockies a slight home dog.

What he didn't include in the write-up was that Zito went 7 IP with only 2 H and 0 ER in his last outing earlier this year against Colorado. Another great outting from Zito tonight...

Ness

Does Larry Ness even go .500 in baseball despite all the favorites between - 130 and - 165 he takes. And he thinks he still has made money this season? I've tracked him the last few months and this guy is getting killed and on top of that, he's losing his bigger plays at an even greater clip.
