man my hqs totally getting mauled near term due to rising costs of labor and input prices and lag in passing it along to the consumer...part of the overall chinese malaise i suppose

hopefully nobody jumped in up near the top....got buying opportunity now IMO

its gonna be a wild ride and a 10+ year hold for me just brutal killing though.....yesterday near end news leaked and getting routed like a big dog today as well

Jesus Christ, what a beatdown HQS took today. I'm glad I never pulled the trigger on it, but rest assured I will be an owner by Monday.

Getting this stock half off from where it has been trading is a gift. I'm all over it.

I may dip a toe in that too DEAC....stink bid only

I had an 18 dime plus day today overall, one of the biggest if not the biggest ever......a lot of short covering. Doesn't make up for the recent beat down but goes along way and is a start. had a couple juniors up 20% plus, sector wide 5-10% avg

I have a strong feeling we may see the end of naked shorting market wide come Sept....also might see them bring back the uptick rule, you heard it here first. Make no mistake a large reason why these small caps have been crushed

manipulation may work near term but never works in the long term

naked shorting or not eventually they will get to where they should be

if anything if you truly believe they are falsely making the price go lower than it should u should be thanking um for giving you it cheaper

the intervention stuff is so overblown

many countries have banned short selling altogether in the past during economic crises doesn't help one bit

all the PPT or whatever can do is delay the inevitable....and with banks and such that's all they are doing

buying themselves more time

y see that svmff u mentioned was up 23% that thing has been beaten beyond belief was overdue for a bounce

manipulation may work near term but never works in the long term

agreed.

just look at gold. up double digits 8 years running

the fundementals must be solid though.

as far as being overblown, you are wrong. If this was going on in the 80's companies like microsoft/ apple would have gone bankrupt

look at overstock.com.....the founder bought every share outstanding. the next day 50 million shares traded. It's a BIG problem

shorts give the markets a bid.....they don't make companies go bankrupt.....

reason you see the trash rally so hard in bear markets.....

banks didn't rally because of the naked short ban...i mean it mighta helped a bit scaring away some shorts near term.....but main reason was they were overdue for a bounce/shorts wanted to take some profits after the mauling

most bears have a short fuse......and try to play the bounces even though they think shit is going lower over the long term

just look at me for instance....

when i cover i'm buying shit i would never think of buying, i don't think it has long term value, but doing so due to expectations of a near term bounce/taking some profits

I don't think you understand what naked shorting / failure to deliver (FTD) really entails.

pure shorting is a vibrant neccessary component of trading, keeps markets somewhat honest, and adds liquidity

what these thieves do, is they borrow the stock when the shares are not available, then when it comes time to deliver the shares, they don't have them so they sell them to one of their buddies, so now the 3 day resets. after 3 days the new guy still can't deliver, so he passes him back to the original shorter........rinse and repeat

IT IS ILLEGAL AND IMMORAL. THEY ARE IN EFFECT COUNTERFEITING SHARES AND DELUDING THE SHARE COUNT, FUCKING EXISTING SHAREHOLDERS

The problem is so bad, It is much worse than the subprime crisis.

Also, the little guys like me or you are unable to play this game, it is for the big boys only

short selling is such small part of the overall market place (and guessing the naked end is just a small slice) if this takes place doubt it has as much effect as you think

maybe i'm wrong

i mean on a small miner with low float i can see your point holding some water

but a microsoft, aaple, or any big bank....whatever

tiz, do me a favor

whenever you have an hour to set aside, grab yourself some of your favorite libation, and listen to this. it will blow your socks off. Don't listen to it now, save it for a time when you are relaxed.

much easier to just not get involved with juniors to begin with IMO

obviously there's some crooked shit that goes on and the smaller the float the higher the chance it can be fucked with

anyway i'll listen sometime i suppose

hell maybe my hqs got naked shorted yesterday/today freaking some longs out...LOL

either way i see it as a great buying opportunity

what i don't get is the it creates more shares part

i mean are they delivering the shares elsewhere?

or are they just taking their sweet time delivering them...meaning more than the T+3 days thing

organic tilipia

think aquaculture will be a huge deal sometime in my lifetime

the also sell some health stuff in china too like fish oil pills and shit like that.....

general gist

near term got slaughtered (too much IMO) cause of rising wages and production costs and lagged in raising prices and handing the cost over to those buying from them

the same type of thing that is making the domestic chinese stock market crumble

also strong dollar not good for them although not sure what yuan is doing vs. USD these days

they had a loss in the first half of last year as well....albeit not as big as this year..........their business weighted towards end of year....1st quarter always the worse....

we'll see if they get positive for full year after its all said and done.....

y retail....they started selling their brand through sam's club not to long ago.....

http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/se...plesearchfor=tilipia&x=0&y=0&simpleitemtype=0

tiloveya their brand

alot of people that don't like the fishy taste of fish like tilipia its got omega 3 too and lotsa protein....pretty bland but can spice it up

they are easy to cultivate and hqs collects rainwater and uses that organic feed etc.....all a very renewable process

long term just think with the population growing so big and top soil erosion/fertilizers etc...hurting yields....not to mention all the wacky weather of late.....aquaculture will be a very big deal....

and they are the leader on the organic side as far as i know....many others make tilipia but not organic certified

small companies gonna go through some growing pains along the way should be expected.....and with a small float the MM can overtly beat um down when the bad news comes....to shake out some weak longs

i dunno just found it a while back on the OTC market.....since than gone to AMEX and now in some russel 2000 index of some sort.....just something i plan on holding a long time and adding a little more along the way on the dips

another beat down small issue i like is STKL

they do some organic stuff as well but big reason i like um is their cellulosic ethanol stuff...they have some pre processing technology related to it.....

as much as i'm talking smack about oil near term its a big issue long term and cellulosic ethanol (using left over AG waste) is the future of ethanol production

they got beat down near term cause of some writedown in the berry production part or something like that

and gasoline peaking helped retail sales as well

Much of what little strength there was in July came from a big jump in sales at gasoline stations, which were up 0.8 percent. That increase reflected surging prices rather than increased demand, however.

Gasoline pump prices hit an all-time high during the month at $4.11 per gallon. Without the big rise in gasoline station sales, retail sales would have fallen by 0.2 percent in July.

---------------------

y service industry getting hit hard and people who depend on tips for a living

For July, the retail sales report showed that sales at department stores and other general merchandise stores rose by 0.3 percent, just half the 0.6 percent June increase. Sales at restaurants and bars, which have been hit hard by the current slowdown, dipped by 0.2 percent in July after a modest 0.3 percent June gain.

Restaurants around here have been empty. Mrs. Artie and I eat out at least once a week and we've had no trouble getting a table. For that matter we could've each had our own table (which may have been a good thing two weekends ago, no further comment). And we are talking affordable restaurants where J6P can usually afford to dine.

Thanks for the suggestion tiz.

I was looking at moving my money into something like Kitco where you can buy a pool of bullion for a certain price but I don't know enough about movements to risk much at this time.

It seems worthwhile to get into once you have an education on it though.

Take a look at HUG:Toronto. It's structured to produce 200% the performance of XGD, an S&P/TSX gold ETF. "Cyclist" recommended it.

A great site for education on the technicls of trading: http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school
