SCAREY QUESTION

Yogi....
Let me give you the situation again so you might be able to catch on....

A game was at 4 and then moved to 4.5.
A player took +4 and when the game moved to +4.5 he wanted to bet the + side again.
But he was told, no because they didn't want a partner.

What books turns down action on a side they need unless they are gamblin?

Heath....
My comment about Spiro was just based off of 2 years of reading the posts here and at MW that Spiro has more money than god (so to speak).
But then we know you aren't fond of the Olympic so your comments can be tossed as far as I'm concerned.
Although usually I can be found in agreeing with most of your points that you make in the forums.

In regards to the point I was trying to make about BM's who gamble. Again the minds here don't seem to have a clue about the difference between the BM and the Owner of a shop.
I thought I offered a pretty valid point but as usual some of the guys wanna go off point and handle their golf bets here in what I thought was an excellent subject presented by the Shrink.

Cheers,

The original thread was " Which BOOKMAKERS do you know for a fact don't gamble themselves". I can only speak for myself but I would imaginge there are others that know the difference. YOU brought up the part about the owners. I assume that some owners are BM's but not all. The fact that none of us addressed your "valid point" and instead talked about golf shows a lack of caring on our part. For the group I would like to offer our most sincere apologies and regrets. Your point was very valid. But if the BM isn't the owner, does gamble, and cross dresses then does illegal drugs and then steals money from the rightful owners we as a group will have a lot more to keep ourselves entertained with. Not to mention giving Sting and The Shrink more to write about. So let's hear it for gambling, coke snorting, crossdressing and thieving BM's, wherever and whoever you are.

PS.
But the way MarkDel, how long was that course you shot 77 on? /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Max,

The course was just a shade under 7,000 yards from the back tees, but they had about 4 holes where the blue tees were up maybe 20-30 yards, so I would call it about 6,850 from where we played.

The practice facilities are NON-EXISTENT. There is no driving range in the entire country, even at the very nice course I played.

No practice facilities will deffintely hurt one's game. 6850 at sea level is a load. I take it that golf isn't exactly a booming sport in your area. If it's anything like Mexico it's still either a game for the tourists or the elite class, not for the middle class like the states. People don't realize that Mexico has some awesome courses and not just in the resort areas. But they are all private. The Campestre in Monterrey had an intiation fee of $100,000 US and that was in 1995. And there was a waiting list. It's deffinitely not a poor man's game. On another note, do you all get much play from Mexican nationals? If you can't answer this here I understand, just curious. They seem to love US FB ( the Dallas Cowgirls being a fave ) and baseball. Any type of play from them? I'll let you go now. Have a great 4th.

Yogi,

The fact that RIO (one of my favorite outs) gambles, bothers me. The fact that nearly every offshore bookmaker gambles, bothers me...

Either play bookmaker or gambler but don't play both sides!

If I had 11-10 or MORE given to me on all bets, I would not be gambling on the player's side, period!

You will discover that many of the offshore books who go belly under do so partly, or in full, because they gambled!

another good post Ken
