Hahahah....that just cheered me up!

Correction to above post: I think I misunderstood when the neuro commented on the brain tumours ... I've had a look at my MRI since and I only see the four original ones. The spinal ones are pretty obvious, too.

Anybody ever had a look at an MRI? On the full trunk version, I can see every one of my organs, nerves, other tissues. Cool stuff. You can even see the scar tissue from my appendectomy and hernia operation. Fascinating, really.

not so fascinating for me my friend, but I guess you picked the right profession for yourself

glad things are working out for you, especially after that OP

you scared us all dontchaknow

Quick update on my noggin'.... I had my MRI this morning. A whole lot of NOT fun. lol. I was told on the phone they'd be scanning just my head which would take 20 minutes, so I decided to forego sedation (I'm quite claustrophobic.) Anyway, when I got there they said the requisition was for head to tailbone, so it would take 45 minutes. Except it took two HOURS! Sheesh! I survived by not once opening up my eyes and imagining myself on one of my hikes with wide-open views.

My symptoms are very mild at this point. I only have ringing in my left ear and some hearing loss. I've decided not to pursue nursing and go back to marketing communications for the time being, since the odds of my going completely deaf are about 90%. I've learned a shittonne of sign language over the past few weeks, start ASL classes in the fall, and am considering a longer term career in audiology where being hard of hearing could be an asset rather than a hindrance.

I have a copy of the MRI with me which I will look at another day. For now, I will just keep on keeping on. :)

In the meantime, I heard a rumour that football season starts in a coupla weeks????

WOOT!!
I had to reply to this quote, but I have read this entire thread. This was actually the first thread that I checked after being away from Rx for months. Just like Coldweather finally making one "regular" post on this thread (grins), I quickly told myself I wanted to see this thread first before catching up with anything else second.

First, my wife and I are hoping for the best for you, X. You met her in Bash 2007 when she was my girlfriend. Your mention of possible hearing loss, learning sign language, and starting ASL classes in the fall... please let me know if I am able to help you in any way considering ASL is my main language. :)

To update you & everyone else -- wife and I married in August 2008, she has a nearly 8-year-old daughter, we had twin girls in April 2009 (7 weeks premature; 4-5 weeks in NICU), and my wife is expecting another girl this December 2010. We are going through bankruptcy right now and pending foreclosure, but we are actually quite happy with the new changes (less stress) in our lives.

Again, wishing the best for you, X!

Hugs,

Just saw this thread for the first time and WOW! But at least page 6 is a whole lot better than page 1.

Best Wishes for a long, happy and healthy life Xpanda.

Hey I don't know you but I have said a prayer for you and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. You have a remarkably good attitude and I've read numerous sources that say its a fact with all illnesses the odds of getting better increase with a positive attitude vs a negative one. Benign is a god send I'm very happy for you about that.
