You guys are making me cry... in a good way, of course!

People always say a positive attitude is the most important thing. I challenge that...I think having such supportive people around you makes so much of a difference! All weekend I was filled with regret for the things I haven't done in my life that I wanted to do....no time like the present! I don't think I can get away for the Bash but I will be seeing some of you again as soon as I am physically able. No more putting off until tomorrow what I can do today!

Thank you all so much! I'm realising just how much I miss this place!

i don't wish this kind of scare on anyone but this may have been a blessing in disguise the way you are making your life so much more fulfilling because of it....love happy endings X....keep it going!

I am thinking you need to ask the doctor for a medical marijuana permit.

May help?

Very sad to see this thread Xpanda, but glad the concern is dwindling. I will speak to the man upstairs on your behalf. I wish you the best.

I miss you. It's been a long time.

Awww....thanks, Coach!!!

After doing some reading about treatment options, I'm starting to get pretty anxious. I hope they can do radiosurgery -- in and out in a day, rapid recovery, and no detrimental side effects. Surgery seems very harsh and risky! This MRI and next appointment can't come quickly enough!

My grandmother had a brain tumor around two decades ago and is still alive at 91.

I hope everything turns out well for you Xpanda!

Like someone wrote on the first page of this thread, Viejo, 'the only thing you have complete control over is your attitude.'

Good luck, x. Yeah, a positive attitude is an important intangible in overcoming such obstacles.

Quick update on my noggin'.... I had my MRI this morning. A whole lot of NOT fun. lol. I was told on the phone they'd be scanning just my head which would take 20 minutes, so I decided to forego sedation (I'm quite claustrophobic.) Anyway, when I got there they said the requisition was for head to tailbone, so it would take 45 minutes. Except it took two HOURS! Sheesh! I survived by not once opening up my eyes and imagining myself on one of my hikes with wide-open views.

My symptoms are very mild at this point. I only have ringing in my left ear and some hearing loss. I've decided not to pursue nursing and go back to marketing communications for the time being, since the odds of my going completely deaf are about 90%. I've learned a shittonne of sign language over the past few weeks, start ASL classes in the fall, and am considering a longer term career in audiology where being hard of hearing could be an asset rather than a hindrance.

I have a copy of the MRI with me which I will look at another day. For now, I will just keep on keeping on. :)

In the meantime, I heard a rumour that football season starts in a coupla weeks????

WOOT!!
