You oversimplify.
You are a white executive with a billion dollar company, you have an AA employee who literaly does not do her job, you move to fire her.
She lies and says her boss, an old white guy, has been offensive, is a racist, she is a black woman.
She even, then, threatens to tell all the other AA employees and also go to the local press.
It is her word against her boss.
What do you do? Tell me.

If she sticks to her guns, the company would not let you do it, for one thing. Human resources would go to the CEO and they would all back down. They might even take her side to avoid bad publicity. God forbid she is a single mom, too.
Your career would be in jeapordy, not just with this company but you would even probably have trouble with employment elsewhere if it gets to the media and they, of course, take the side of the black woman.

I guarantee you that corporations (and other work environments) are terrified by the threat of an AA employee claiming racism, on large or even very small matters.
AA's can navigate and take advantage of this fact every day, to help get what they want, and many do.
