Hoyer is no joke spent 3 years in NE getting tips from a future hall of famer and one of greatest ever.

When Johnny FB was drafted his first comment, was awesome bring it on.

I was was stoked when I grabbed him off waivers last year in Fantasy FB, ( was even more stoked picking up Foles the week after he got hurt who won me the title. ) but Hoyer has tremendous confidence, I'm sure Brady had a lot to do with that, saying.....hey when you get your shot make it count. And Hoyer did that last year going 3-0 in the games he started, although his 3rd start he got KO'd after 4 attempts. I would actually be surprised if Manziel beat him out, and if he does it's A GM move, sell tickets, fill seats etc, if G or don misses the whole year and after the initial story which I never followed up on, looks like he will. Let Manziel hold a clipboard for a few games and if Hoyer can't produce wins the Dawgpound will demand to see Johhnies number called, but if Hoyer can win and does win early, only the Texans living in Ohio will be bitching.

I remember the talk around Jamarcus Russell At the time when people acted like he was good. They would say something along the lines of "he threw the ball 70 yard on 1 knee". Who cares? First of all if you are on a knee in the NFL, you are down and will prob. be diagnosed with a concussion. Secondly, how many passes in a game are 70 yards? A fly pattern would be 40-50 yards tops. I think so many qb decisions are common sense yet statistics say a qb in the 1st round is 50/50. Just look at the top 5 quarterbacks in the NFL. They all have the same characteristics. Smart, accurate, hard worker.

Russell Wilson is average and people will see. I do think he is the best of all the current black or mixed quarterbacks but will just do down as "another guy" when it is said and done.

Jez, if I were a Cleveland official, I would definitely want an undrafted free agent like Hoyer who has passed for 1,231 yards (7 tds/6 ints) during his NFL career over my No. 1 draft choice who played his college ball against teams in a league known for the worst defenses in college football. Plus Hoyer has the size of the expected starter in the NFL (6-1 3/4, 215 pounds.)

Hell yeah, Hoyer's my man.............

Maybe there is a competition for the starting quarterback job with the Cleveland Browns after all.
According to the Akron-Beacon Journal, “Manziel appears to have narrowed the gap between himself and Hoyer with his performance in the scrimmage.”
Thus far the Browns have been playing Manziel with the second team offense while incumbent Brian Hoyer remains with the first team offense.
“He made a couple nice runs, made some nice throws,” head coach Mike Pettine said about the recent performance of Manziel. “Where most quarterbacks would step out of bounds, he got two completions there.”
In the end it all comes down to getting into the endzone for the Browns.
“We have to convert when we get into the red zone,” Pettine said. “The field gets tight there. The defense can take some chances, and they did and that’s something we’re going to get a lot of work on.”
