The 2 most exciting days of the year for me were always the NBA Draft Lottery, and draft day. My Clippers were always a major participant in both. I feel lost this year as we weren't/aren't major players in either. I kind of miss the excitement.

The '96 and '03 drafts are pretty amazing. A lot of superstars out of those 2 drafts alone.

On Raptors tv up here (A mix of NBA TV and Raptors stuff) they have this awesome show where every year they have a film crew in the Raptors war room the day of the draft and leading up to it. Oh the horror of some of these decisions back in 2001 the Raptors were dying to get Richard Jefferson and one of the scouts said don't trade up to get him, Michael Bradley is going to be a great player for us. Another classic Boston is trying to dump Joe Johnson for a future 1st round draft pick Raptors say nope. However its a great insight of what goes on during draft day.

I still think Rudy Gay is the best player with the most upside in the draft...Gay could be another Ray Allen type player, with a bit more inside game, he really lacks on the defensive end and is stll very raw, but has enormous potential IMO..

Not saying he won't be good, but a comparison to Ray Allen doesn't make much sense. One is one of the best shooters in the world, the other cannot shoot at all.

that sounds like a great show. especially for a bumbling front office. would love to see one for an NFL team.

Harold "Baby Jordan" Miner was my favorite college basketball player ever. I really thought he was going to be a star in the NBA. His only highlight came in that dunk contest he won.

I'm curious why you would say he can't shoot? How many times have you seen him play? He has a very soft touch.

he might be able to shoot... but just not at the ray allen type level if you know what I mean

seen him play tons of times. He is a dime a dozen average shooter. Allen is one of the best in the world.

just looked it up to confirm my instinctive thoughts on his game. He always struck me as a poor perimiter shooter when I watched him many times and it appears I am right. 31 percent from downtown this year. Very poor from that short distance considering with all the talent on that team they are normally wide open looks. Doesn't jack up even remotely close to as many as Ray Allen either. I think Gay will be a good player and may eventually learn how to shoot better as he has the strength to do so, but as of now um no, Ray Allen he is not, nor is he within the top 1000 guys that I would compare their games to Ray Allen's game. More of a Richard jefferson type game.

lol, he is 19 years old, of course he is not Ray Allen, I'll say this though, he is a much better player at this age than Ray Allen was...

I never said he could shoot like Ray Allen can now, I said I feel he has that potential...We'll see in a couple years.:103631605

Ok take what I said out of context to try and make me look
foolish...Gay will be a great player...and a great shooter/ scorer....he is far from an average shooter.

Gay was 28-60 (49%) from 3 pt range as a freshman...and 56 -148 in his two years 38% , hardly as bad as you're making him seem...he is the complete package.

Didn't think I was taking anything out of context, just pointing out that they do not play similar types of games at all. Many players in the NBA would be a better comparision as Ray Allen's game is three point shooting, Rudy Gay's isn't at all as he is very mediocre if not downright poor from out there. Only comparison I see, is they played for Uconn. If you meant that he will have the same kind of impact in the NBA as Ray Allen, I tend to agree, he very well could, but just not in the same style as Allen does it. You should know my style by know, I just simply like people to know the truth, but possibly I was misinterpreting what you meant, as it sounds like you have watched him play a lot, and would know he isn't a great outside shooter.

So are you saying that he plays a similar style of game to Ray Allen?
