Jordan i hope you didn't mind, I took the Red Sux v. Angel$ thread idea from you. Looks like it sparked a heated debate. Hopefully we can settle it on the field if you know what i mean. Go Angel$$$$$$$

Obviously Angels are the Red Sox playoff bitches. This should be over quickly.

:cripwalk:

But in reality I think it could go either way. Angels look good this year. So do the Rays.

Scioscia chose the wrong format.

The Red Sox capitalize and take the series in 4.

He chose this format so he could stay with a 3 man rotation. I think it's brilliant. Game 1- Lackey Game 2- Usher (Santana) Game 3- Saunders Game 4- Lackey and Game 5- Usher

bloody brilliant if you ask me %^_

Lester, Dice-K, and Beckett are far superior than Lackey, Santana and Saunders.

He should have chosen the four pitcher scheme that would have forced the Red Sox into carrying a third catcher or starting Paul Byrd.

The bullpen excuse is ridiculous as well. The Angels bullpen aces (really the only pitchers needed in this series -minus a mop-up appearance which I don't envision happening- given the day off in between games) aren't any better than the Red Sox bullpen aces.

Dice-K pitching in LAA could get lit up. He walks how many batters per game, he wasn't built for the road. I'll take USHER over Dice-K any day of the week, and your wrong, the halos have the best rotation. cheers :toast:

"the halos have the best rotation"

Good argument, you ass clown.

1-5 the Angels have the better rotation, however, not one Angels starter has a clear cut advantage over their opposing Red Sox starter which is why I was criticizing Scioscia for choosing the series format that he chose.

Dice-K could get lit up? So could Lackey, Santana or Saunders. The fact of the matter is the Angels saw the least amount of pitches per at bat of any team in baseball. In the "making pitchers work" category, the Angels were dead last. Last. It goes without saying that Dice-K has control issues, but it definitely helps that the Angels are the most inpatient team in the game.

"Among any pitcher in the history of baseball with at least 59 starts, Lester’s .771 winning percentage is second to only Al Spalding, who went 48-12 (.800), threw his last pitch in 1877, and founded Spalding sporting goods."

There's a stat to support everything, jerk off.
