They could be anybody, but if A = Miguel Cabrera B = Aramis Ramirez C = David Wright, then it's a close call between Cabrera and Wright with a slight edge for pace.
You want the base stealer first right? I dont see how this is up for debate.

And I know you put C first. Just agreement I guess.

The thing is to put them in order in terms of talent. Not how you put them in a line up. Unless I'm reading this wrong.

But would you not want the guy who can steal in front of the power?

Rob I was putting them in order of talent but not as in a lineup. lol

I have hidden the players names. I have averaged their stats from the past 3 years. Rank in order who you would rather have of these 3 players. Obviously age and defense would figure in on this but rank these 3 players....

Player A - 31 hr, 114 rbi, 72 bb, 127 k, 5 sb, .319 avg

Player B - 35 hr, 105 rbi, 45 bb, 61 k, 1 sb, .304 avg

Player C - 27 hr, 109 rbi, 69 bb, 113 k , 19 sb, .306 avg

Since you are a Cubs fan I am sure one of these guys is Aramis and the other two are highly publicized baseball players...

Your assumption is that Aramis doesn't get his due but if you were a pitcher you would much rather fear Miguel Cabrera and David Wright if that is who that is... Aramis has had good seasons but he is not in Cabrera's league IMO...

Lets not forget just last year Aramis disappeared when Derek Lee went down and struggled to carry the offense, then once the Cubs were out of the race he put up mammoth numbers...

There is a lot more to baseball then numbers

Yeah i agree, but I am also very impressed with Cabrera's stats last season, a leader of a ball club doomed for embarrassment, up until mid september the Marlins were still a .500 ball club.

I don't know shit about baseball, so excuse the dumb question, but what's wrong with player B?
He hits for a good average, has good power and seems to get on base.
Very low strikeout numbers, seems to me like he'd be an ideal Billy Beane player.

B,A,C.

Player A has more than twice as many strikeouts as does B. :puke1:

Yup thats what it is.... I didnt do this to say Aramis is better than these 2 guys but I believe he is right in their class. I think it is about time Aramis gets his due. Especially this season he has been as clutch as can be and is playing gold glove 3rd base.

player B - cuz 28 of his 35 HR's were from the last 2 seasons, he's been roiding it up hard.

player C - woulda picked him first but that speed... you know he got that fast by running from the cops...

Player A - he was good back in the day... getting old even thought his 3 yr stats still look good. plus he is going thru that nasty divorce

see stats are everything :)

Why would pitchers fear Ram less than the other two? Really depends on the surrounding talent. Reminds me of the people on here who look at Bonds' stats and fool themselves into thinking he is having a great year, when he isn't. When Cabrera (or Bonds) are the only person in the lineup who can change a difference, they should have a higher OBP.

For sure he is the Cubs MVP, what impresses me most was the way he picked up where he left off after returning from his injury, and he has been consistent given how much Derrek Lee has been struggling from May. Though I think most would pick Wright because of his considerable upside and his edge in athleticism.

They carry there offenses...

Aramis was asked to do that when Derek Lee went down last year and he struggled big time...

David Wright is much younger and has a higher ceiling IMO...

But I don't think that Aramis can even be put in the same league as Miguel Cabrera... Miguel Cabrera is a lot younger and is relied on to be the main guy on his team... Something that Aramis can't say...

You just said the other day Hanley is the best of our generation so how the hell is Miggy carrying his team

And as far as David Wright. You forget Reyes,Delgado,Beltran.

Can you remind me who Aramis had last year?

think and than take a peek http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/roster.php?y=2006&t=CHN

You are proving my point...

When Derek Lee was out

Aramis Hit 266 and 276 with 10 HR's and 33 RBI's...

Pre-All Star break with D-Lee injured
He hit 259 with 16 HR's and 52 RBI's....

When D-Lee came back adn the Cubs were completely out of contention Aramis exploded in the second half.

How do I prove your point when you are saying the other two carry thier offenses when they have super players around them.

You are just always wrong about everything.

Ok who does Miguel Cabrera have around him?

And I was saying the guy isn't a super star and Miguel is... I said he wasn't in his league... Cabrera steped up when they needed him and does so often...

Getting clutch hits is one thing... But he failed to back the Cubs last year...

I don't get why you are always so right and I'm wron ghaha

Lets see he was injured pre all star break and in the whole second month of the year... I compared both Split Stats and came up with those numbers buddy...

Also he wasn't getting pitched around he walked the exact same pre and post all star break
