if you want an adventure check out the royale palace....it was almost 20 years ago but I saw a bouncer beat up a customer for grabbing on a dancer....taunt the dude while he was down and then the dude got up and lunged at him with a knife....the bouncer jumps back over a table...thought he was cut for sure, but then he got up and ran after him with another guy who had his hand in his waist....we left some money on the table for our tab and bailed as we werent even 21 yet....place was fun in high school i am sure theyve cleaned it up some now....area is nicer theses days

So looks like misses is running the MCM so we'll be flying in on Oct 22, so just a couple of questions: is it a good idea to fly to baltimore and then drive to wherever we stay at? there is a new southwest direct flight between SJO-BWI and I like the price and schedule for this flights. Best hotels to stay at? I'm looking at the ones posted on the race page but all seem to have 1 night availability and the next sold out and then again available.

Fly into Reagan. It's not worth it to save a few dollars going to BWI. Reagan is right on the Metro line. I'd recommend staying in Crystal City (1 stop away from BWI). There's every chain hotel you can think of. There's a mall within walking distance. The start line of the race isn't too far from there either. The finish line is a little farther, but Metro accessible.

VD, I don't think they perform that time of year. It's mostly a summer thing. They do several performances at the MC Memorial lawn area also....

Coach CB Arlington VA and Washignton Dc are borh very very nice cities. I stayed @ Mt Pleasant, a few minutes away from the zoo. Loved the city, the neighborhood, weather was great but couldn't much because the wife got hurt(did finish the race) so was pretty much the national museum, the zoo and some driving around, but again, liked the city a lot and honestly thinking about going back with more time to stay there!

Glad you enjoyed it. The weather wasn't the best, but not bad if you're a runner. Saturday's weather was great for racing. The part of the city you stayed in is nice....close to the embassies. Those neighborhoods are great because you can walk to a lot of attractions. Where I live in Arlington, I can't really walk (closest nightlife area is about 1.5 miles away).

You should definitely come back when you have more time. Lots to do.
