The idiot Reid has made loads of bad decisions during this Eagle tenure...

The Saints send a big blitz and Garcia is just going to throw it up for grabs, that is with no doubt the situation if they go for it. If the punt works out and they stopped the Saints, they get the ball back around 40-50 yard line with about 50 seconds just needing a FG, so about 30 yards in all probability.
In light of all that I don't think it was such a crazy idea to punt.

The fact that they made it on a 4th and 10 that didn't count means very little. You all should get a grip and realize what the odds are of making a 4th and 15. Those ought to be sobering enough to realize hoping your defense makes a play isn't a bad choice there. If they don't make the 4th down their chances of getting a tying FG are almost zero, by punting they gave themselves at least a chance whereas the 4th and 15 is just a desperation play for a team without big playmakers at WR.

WildBill said:No Fish I am sober as always, I just think you all think way too emotionally without thinking things out and being realistic about the odds. You all act like geniuses when just reacting emotionally can cost you. I am surprised you are on this side Fish, you usually strike me as a careful analyzer of the facts and take advantage of opportunities when the public overreacts, but I guess not.
I don't care, you all can call me an idiot, I still stand by my assertion that in an odds perspective what Reid did was about a wash or maybe a slight advantage. Too many people in here are acting like 4th and 15 isn't much, when I am sure its probably about 10% likely to succeed at best. I'd shade it down a bit in this spot, the Eagles line wasn't going to stop a blitz and Garcia would have just thrown it up for grabs. Whatever, I hope people continue being completely emotional in all their analysis, gives the astute opportunities to exploit.

My opinion is that if they don't make the 4th and 15, they still had the same chance to stop the Saints and get the ball back as they did with punting. Maybe the Saints get a FG there and Philly needed a TD to win, but Philly had to stop them regardless to get the ball back, punting or not. In my honest opinion, they left a play (opportunity) on the field.

These guys get paid millions of dollars and their job is to make good decisions..........however, week in and week out we see flat out HORRIBLE decisions by head coaches.
Don't get me started on the REPLAY CHALLENGES some of these coaches DO and DON'T challenge..........some are really lost.
In fact, doesnt ANDY REID have a horrible challenge recored on instant replays???
