just for gaming, XBox 360 no question. For overall use, PS3. Blu-ray player, internal HD, up-conversion, free online.

Pretty sure you can do that with the PS3 as well - dont actually use the feature myself, but when I have had my PS3 on at the same time as my laptop then I have seen option to do so...

Can easily do it with the PS3.

PS3 you don't have to pay to play online while 360 you have to pay every year/month depending on what plan you get. Most games are pretty much the same sports wise and both can hook up with netflix, computers, etc. If you like Halo then you have to go XBox, but me, along with everyone i've ever known to have a 360 has had it break down multiple times.

Ps3 is more like a computer, and great for movies and entertainment. Xbox is more of a video gamers system. Personally I'm a big fan of my ps3 and haven't even played a video game in over a year.

I have never played a video game of any kind and have zero interest to do so. I just never understood the whole thing.

I will tell you a good exclusive for the PS3 : Grand Turismo 5 . Beats the crap out of Forza (The 360 exclusive)

And Plus Drake's uncharted 1 & 2 is only on PS3 as is Killzone and some others.

But then on the 360 you have the Halo & Fable series. Best to just have both machines

The box is the superior system as far as game play and selection of games.

PS3 +are blue ray, free online play(xbox is like 8.95 a month or 60 a year, xbox online play is way better).

The only reason i own a PS3 is because MLB the show...If you are a baseball game guy The show is a must have and is only available for PS3 other than that I dont touch the ps3.

I forgot to add i have had the xbox since day1 (about 5 years) and the ps3 for about 3. I have had no issues with the ps3 but i have add a few with the xbox....I had a problem called the 3rings of death were the system would not turn on,also the sliding tray would get stuck and not open sometimes. Both times i sent it in and microsoft fixed it for free.

I guess I'm curious....My kid was home from college for a week and he has been playing Call of Duty non stop since he got home.

Well for sports games its more so you can be the coach, run your plays, have your players, have your own season where the Redskins don't go 5-12, etc. Shooter games I dont get the attraction to as much altho i used to be heavy into halo but that was more because all my friends played and it would be a cool way to spend a few hours talkin shit to each other playing games. I gave call of duty a shot the other day and it was fun for a while but eventually gets boring like a lot of games.

I own both also and I last touched the 360 2 months ago with my cousins in a 4 way battle of halo which was fun other than that the ps3 is on every day watching shows and movies and typing this message.

seems like most people lean towards the xbox 360... I was initially leaning towards the ps3 but now I'm unsure.

Any final input on the matter?

i own all 3 of the major systems and all offer something different....If you are looking strictly for the best gaming experience i would say 360 is by far the better gaming system.
