Commendable move by Pinnacle. Players' sensitive data protection should always be books' main concern. Excellent move.

That's why we have passwords in the first place. The only way it is commendable is if they were somehow compromised...in which case the commendable move should have been to not have it happen at all.

But in the scheme of things, forcing me to use a different password is a very minor blip in the radar.

steeser,

I think Pinnacle is properly reacting on the growing concerns sparked by the several reported hack jobs to the damage of account balance holders with the North American operations of Sportingbet PLC.

I would call it wise prevention rather than a measure to safeguard compromised security.

I agree 100% with you Roberto.and nothing wrong with great security like pinny has..I just think its fustrating that some can not even get in to change there passwords...maybe since they did this at the spur of the moment it caused many at once to try to log in overloading there system...as the site is down for me

Fair enough. I wasn't aware of these hack jobs. My money's security is the top priority, so kudos to them. Top book in nearly every regard.

Lander is correct! Forcing us to give at least 6 letters or numbers is a pain in the azz for anyoine who bets 2h's.

Sounds like Pinny was hacked to me.

Better safe than sorry! When Horizon started they hired a pinny CS guy and he had my account number and password at pinny! Also When pinny started they got guys from the old Heritage and they "pinny" had all the accounts and passwords.

And the only way it could get compromised is if you wrote it down, left it in plain view and had a nephew dump in all your accounts while you were away. Anyone like that here?

Make sure you follow the new required parameters.

REQUIRED 6 CHARACTERS IN LENGTH, ONE MUST BE A NUMBER.

Yeah, I did. And I was able to login a couple times. Now I try it and it says it's invalid. I know I have it right. Pinny is all screwy. I emailed them.

I changed it, tested it, let the account timeout without dynamic, retested, no fails. Works for me.

I had faith in you Dante, good job.

Maybe some truth in an overload condition there, and most likely attributable to everyone fading Tiger this morning.

There are some disgruntled ex-employees of more then one book offshore who have the player's info lists including all account info.

At this point it would be wise to change all your passwords and do so regular just to be on the safe side:103631605

Is this thread breaking the "wil" rule of dangerous heresay? First Boberto and I think it is because someone else got hacked, now disgruntled former employees with customer info. Maybe one of our illustrious moderators can find out the real reason so we do not speculate this into a heresay nightmare. No, the sky is not falling.
