Let me ask you guys this question. If you found out someone raped your daughter, or you found out someone killed your dog which would piss you off more. In this society the media is sensationalizing a topic once again and there is no way he will be suspended for his life.

Here is the difference. Kobe did not go out and put a gun to a girls head and force her to his room and rape her. There was some consent. The question is to what level. And the girl had other issues. So the kobe situation, even taken at its worse, is not clear cut.

On the other hand, when it comes to dogfighting, there is absolutely NO interpretation that would lead anyone to think that the dogs consented to killing each other.

So while it is obvious that raping a girl is far worse (in my mind) than dog fighting, i do not agree that this situation fits that type of analogy.

In this particular case I believe Michael Vick's endorsement days are over forever much the same as O J's was and I don't think it really will matter if He somehow can buy his way out of doing jail time. Peta is not alone in condemning cruelty to animals and that is why there is such an outrage.
I hope that this case will bring about an open investigation into other such rings of dogfighting in the South or wherever it is taking place. I will donate some Money to Peta to pursue this cause and for all those that say Peta is a bunch of animal fanatics ...... I guess I also fall into that category !

excellant Kermit....these poor creatures were manipulated nd tortured in the worse way. They suffer! To minimize this and compare it to anything else misses the point.

they were sentenced to a year and a day and got out in 9 months. If the judge had sentenced them to a year exactly they would have had to do the whole year or vice versa, I'm not sure. But they didn't do the whole sentence. I understand the federal sentencing guide lines where if something calls for a mandatory stretch, say 5 years, then they can't get paroled out early.

Max and Seymourm the way it works federally is when the judge sentences you he lays out how the sentence will be from start to finish for instance....

3 years....

First year will be in confinment (must do 85% of that)
6 months will be controlled release (halfway house/ house arrest)
18 months probation

But you will do the full three years for sure.
