Chop I heard 6-7 mill. back in the summer.... Im not sure...i also heard in the 9 mil. range but...i dont know if that was the range the agent wanted...... Butler prefers to stay here also. But the Pats were pissed with the agent thats for sure.

lol. It's only a horrible idea because it does not fit you scenario. IF you knew BB and how he does things the franchise tag is not going to happen for Butler, most likely. You see there is another guy that might be using the franchise tag next season, JG...

Best scenario for Butler, where he has full control of where he plays and getting the biggest contract is the scenario I just posted.
He may get 10M with NO but how much is guaranteed? He'll also be going from a contending team year in and year out to a middle of the road team.

If he did that he could be franchised tagged the next season. All of a sudden he would be 29 years old when it comes time for his first long term deal in the NFL.

Horrible idea .

patriots rarely ever franchise anyone.

and if they want to use it next year, it may be on Jimmy G to hold him until TB retires

it's obvious to me at this point they won't franchise Butler, although I'm thinking they might keep him if he wants to stay and signs for the right price

they already signed somebody over him, and they're not going to give him that big money he's evidently seeking

maybe the Saints better take a look at Revis, he'd still be an upgrade for them

Chop's source is T'eo's college girlfriend.

You might want to read butlers instagram feed then you can get it straight from the horses mouth.

Saints have 11 million in salary cap space. They are also going to free up 8 million more when they cut Bryd on June 1st.

The saints just restructured Armsteads contract this morning .
Armstead is the highest paid left tackle in the NFL.

All the big name free agents are have been signed.

There is only one reason to restructure a contract like armstead .

That is because they are about to take on a massive contract.

I know you guys don't want to deal with reality and you want to pin me down on every single date.

But the fact of the matter is all my info in this thread has been flawless.
You can say what you want but at the end of the day Butler about to be a saint.
And this is something I've been saying in this thread before it became news.

This is not a maybe.
Its 100%
Done deal.

Dont shoot the weather man when it rains .

If anyone would like to put up big money to bet on any of this I'm game.

Just send BAS the money and I will match it.

Let's bet .

Butler will be a saint soon.
And the patriots not getting a first round pick.

Let me know.

Chop, You said earlier in this thread that the Saints are getting Butler and the compensation to the Patriots would be no more than a third round pick.

For the $500.00 that you proposed earlier I'll take the other side which includes either the Saints don't get Butler or if they do that the compensation will be more than a 3rd round pick.

Let me know. I'll cut a money order to BAS early tomorrow AM from SO Postal in Boston via Postal Express Saturday Delivery. You know from the past that I can't do the money transfers that you guys can do.

I'll bet Chop

If the Pats get 1st round, I win

If the Pats get 3rd round or worse, you win

If it's a draft pick plus a player, no action

$ 500

Willie and MA.

As I said a few post ago the comp got changed to the 42nd pick and a future consideration .

It was originally going to be a 3rd but the saints ended up having to give butler slightly less then thought so the compensation increases to #42.

That and the fact that Houston also offered a 2nd round pick for Butler the other day.

As for Butler stay with the Pats.

Looks like the pats are resigning Revis today or tomorrow.
I have a hard time believing they would have any plans of keeping butler if they signing Revis .
