You're defending a guy (Sandusky) who on national TV at halftime of an NFL game with Bob Costas couldn't even deny his "affection" for little boys. As for the movie...very boring. Didn't dive into JoPa's control of the messaging and of the university, witness accounts even the statue or Sandusky himself. The trials and tribulations of the Paterno family is the least interesting part of the story. Let's hope for a documentary.

According to the fairy tale, Jerry that bumbling buffoon who had no clue how to answer that Costas question, was somehow a criminal mastermind able to rape and assault boys all over town for 40 years , and NO one knew . Or, you believe the whole town was involved in some sort of a 40 year cover up !

Seriously, what is wrong with people . Media feeds everyone a spoonful of bullshit, public just swallows it all up

That’s right. It’s the media’s fault that sandusky was found GUILTY on 45 of the 48 counts against him. The media convicted him of the following charges and counts: eight counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, seven counts of indecent assault, one count of criminal intent to commit indecent assault, nine counts of unlawful contact with minors, 10 counts of corruption of minors and 10 counts of endangering the welfare of children. It’s all the media.

Strange twist of fate here!

Thought 919 would be siding with the child-rapers as those illegal-loving, tranny-loving California hippies do..... Very surprising.

There may be hope for some Californians yet.

Hes innocent, but this thread is not about Jerry. The media made this a Penn State story, and just loved taking Joe down

Based on a review of all available evidence, including discussions with attorneys representing Curley, Schultz and Spanier, the experts conclude that the late Penn State Coach Joe Paterno did not attempt to hide any information or hinder or impede any investigation related to the crimes or conduct of former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.http://www.paterno.com/Media-Release/default.aspx...

XCLUSIVE: Federal Report on Former Penn State President Concluded There Was No Cover-up

What does Snedden think of the Louie Freeh report?

"It's an embarrassment to law enforcement," Snedden said.

Louie Freeh, Snedden said, is a political appointee.

"Maybe he did an investigation at one point in his life, but not on this one," Snedden said about the report Freeh wrote on Penn State.

What about the role the media played in creating an atmosphere of hysteria?

"Sadly, I think they've demonstrated that investigative journalism is dead," Snedden said

Joe Paterno's family should sue the idiots @PennState that made that ridiculous deal--and commissioned the one sided report.

One day, maybe Jay will grow a set of balls and really say what he feels about the Sandusky case overall

The Problem with Docu-Fiction

by Jay Paterno on December 27, 2018 5:00 AM

http://www.statecollege.com/news/columns/the-problem-with-docufiction,1478852/

The movie “Paterno” debuted on HBO in April. Just a preliminary count found a few dozen serious inaccuracies in the film’s portrayal of events, some miscasting ill intent by creating events that never happened. The opening scene is based on an inaccurate story that appeared in a book by John U. Bacon. When Bacon wrote the book he never fact-checked his story with me (nor did he fact-check with people at USC or Notre Dame about stories at those schools). Another person included in that opening scene also disputed, in a sworn deposition, Bacon’s account. Regardless, the story made its way into the opening scene of the movie and was believed by people who saw it.
The example illustrated the way fictionalized stories take on a perception of authenticity in the hands of a skilled director, something that you may not notice until it hits close to home. It can be unnerving to see a person portraying you, saying things and acting in ways that you never did or would.
Dramatization is thin cover for people to excuse what they produce. On the movie “Paterno,” a reporter who covered the story was a consultant on the film, yet the film was not released bearing her name as the title. Her character also was involved in scenes and dialogue that never happened, false scenes used to cast aspersions on the character of others.
