I think we are long past the era where either a CFB or CBB coach has complete, independent, exploitive and sometimes tyrannical control of their program EXCEPT if something bad happens they knew nothing about it. Maybe JoePa was the starting point for that awakening. If so, let's give him ten years off his sentence of rotting in Hell...and Joe...save a burning bench for Pittino.

Absolutely terrifying to me that a lie could go this far . Jerry Sandusky is innocent in MY OPINION.

However I do get that most people who have no real reason why they would be intellectually curious enough about that case ,would understand that , and its too much for them to even comprehend

The personal attacks, the jokes, totally understand. If this was a similar case involving someone for a school I could care less about, I would think that opinion was crazy too . I mean he was found guilty

The scary , part, and shows how corrupt , and powerful the media is in our world today, is that most people still believe ,( even if you think JS was guilty) ,in a complete myth of a cover up by Penn State and Joe Paterno . I haven't watched the movie yet, but I am sure its not flattering to Joe

Our society is a complete mess . What we have today is an environment where public opinion can be swayed , so as to throw out all logic. Dissenting opinions. get silenced , and a lazy corrupt media with no interest in truth, just jumps on and runs with a "story" for ratings .

If it can happen to Joe, it can happen to anyone

how much time have you spent looking into the case?

Which " victim " do yo believe the most? The one who you are positive was Abused ?

I have other threads you can search for to learn why I believe he is innocent, but this thread is about Joe and a Penn State cover up

Did any red flags go up for anyone how quickly this became a PSU story in the first place? Jerry was an EX football coach ( who Joe never cared for by the way) who worked at the Second Mile , where just about every " victim ) were from.
Its not somewhat odd that NO one from the Second mile has been accused of covering for Jerry, knew nothing, and no charges were very filed against anyone the there?
Nope, no juicy headlines , Lets just go with the angle of taking down the winningest
coach in college foootball history

Media manipulation and complete brainwashing

I liked it. If the movie was true and I tend to think it was then joe knew about Jerry back in the 70’s.
I cant believe how those in charge covered it up.

Watched it last night. Was disappointing. Just kind of boring with no new take on anything. I don't know what I really expected but it was just kind of boring.

The scenes at the Paterno home were boring.

The parts with the female journalist meeting with parents just kind of went nowhere until it disappeared . Just seemed like a lot of nothingness. The most interesting characters were the Paterno sons I guess by default. Maybe a little more of Sandusky or McQuerry would have made it more interesting.

Joe knew. Died of guilt

I just got through watching it, and if accurate, you pretty much summed it up. My take is, there was more than enough smoke there for JoePa to do something more way back when. I'm sure he never actually "saw" anything happen, but deep down he knew those boys were telling the truth and just buried his head in the sand for the sake of his program.

As for the quality of the movie, it was decent IMO. Nothing must see, but entertaining enough on a night with not much else going on.

he got fired before the Nebraska game

maybe it got better after I fell asleep when they showed up chanting at his house

Joe you have to say something

no Joe you can’t say that etc

HBO's 'reckless' Joe Paterno movie blasted by 300 Penn State lettermen
http://www.pennlive.com/news/2018/04/hbos_reckless_joe_paterno_movi.html

It has been described by producer Barry Levinson as a work of fiction, which is likely the only truth in the entire project. Incredibly, in making the movie, Levinson and his team never consulted a single person who was close to, worked with, or was coached by Joe Paterno. Not even family members or us, who undoubtedly knew him best of all.
