Doing this to a human would get you life in prision, maybe the death penatly. I think the punishment is about right.
Huge double standard. Problem is if we start treating crimes against animals the same way we treat crimes against humans, where do we draw the line? Is running over a dog bad but shooting a bird ok? What about stepping on an ant? Hard to answer because personally I think killing the puppy should be treated the same as if they had done it to a human. It's actually worse if you think about it since a puppy is so innocent, it's more like killing a kid.

You can't compare it to shooting a bird and things like that because it isn't the same at all... I know it is an animal but it isn't a domestic animal and I know that sounds crazy but being a domestic animal makes a big difference... And I know that doesn't seem right but some people in this country eat bird, legally, and other animals. A dog is not an animal you do this to... I don't think you should be able to do anything to animals to be honest I don't disagree with hunting or food making... but this was for kicks and giggles to these little bastards... They obviously have serious problems and I dont want them on the streets in 10 years... because I will most likely have kids by then

People have a connection to dogs, this is why do many of you are angry at this story. These fuckers should be tortured for their entire prison stay, but so should a lot of other people.
Farms and things are not the same... they are inhumane but they are doing it for a reason! that is the difference they are doing it to get fur, or to get food, or to do research for humans. I am not arguing that research and things like that are legit... BUT THEY ARE FOR A REASON... these little bastards did this for kicks and giggles... they did it for the hell of it... that is why it is unreal...
