As many of you know, I'm just out of college, and I'm now about 3 hours from my first real job interview with an accounting firm that works hand in hand with hotels (I'd like to ultimately end up in hospitality somewhere despite having relatively useless degrees in music and history). I know I'm more than qualified for this job based off of my years in the hotel industry. Lady said she was looking for someone with a hospitality background to teach accounting to. Fortunately, I have the background in accounting as well.

Very few things in life really unnerve me, but I feel like how Adam Vinetiari should've felt before each of his Super Bowl winning kicks at this point (or that guy who was holding a Pats ml ticket before those kicks)... Is the suit and tie overboard or spot on? I was thinking jacket and tie at first, then changed my mind to jacket and no tie (I hate ties), but I'm back with my first thought now...

First impressions are key. This is a professional job- go with a suit. Judge the corporate culture while at the interview, and if it is a corp casual envionment wear a jacket and tie to interview #2.

Good Luck!

Somehow I don't think an accounting firm is looking for a guy who thinks that 9-1 is way better than 95%.... heh...

The shoes too. I honestly had an employer glance at my shoes after shaking my hand before the start of the interview.

Shoes shined, Tie straight and, Shirt that fits and is pressed, And clean hands and nails.....I interview close to 50-75 people a year to fill 25-35 postions which are mostly seasonal..and if you do not have these things going in, good chance it will be a quick interview

Make sure you stress your strengths and don't be modest, but show you are confident and not arrogant or cocky.

Limit your responses to the questions asked and don't say more than is necessary. Also, have someone questions to ask the interviewer.

I know this is not a sales person, but close the person and ask them is there anything else that I need to do to convince you that I should be moved forward in the interview process.

Two good investments that can't go wrong for a kid in college or right out of high school.

1) A sharp looking suit (as Uncle Eddie would say "it's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year")

2) A good solid desktop or laptop.

you hiring any positions right now?? I prefer something that pays 50-75k, allows me to come and go as i please, and prefer to have no responsibilities whatsoever. I show up close to start time and leave early all the time. Sometimes I smell like booze in the morning.

I like to bang hot 'porn star' type chicks, but not on camera. I wanna drink booze and smoke dope all day and night long. I like to travel, A LOT! First Class all the way. I don't want to be told what to do or where to do it.

My Salary requirements are high, my qualifications are non-existant.

when can I start?

Wear a silk jumpsuit and tell them your joeyslats. They will immediately know your a capper if you also wear a sleeveless mink.

Really appreciate it Peter. Things didn't go so well today (I learned how little I really know about accounting) but I'm not down about it. There will be more chances in life.
