The fact is that Vinny has been doing this for 58 years now. I am sure he has lost a step or two, but he is by far, the best Baseball Announcer that has ever talked into a Mike. Well, maybe the 2nd best. Will anyone ever top Harry?

He's good. I can't stand that moron that does the Yankee's broadcast though. It's such stupid crap that he says.

I know everyone thinks this guy is the best play by play guy around, but I can not listen to him. He tries to be too cute on his broadcasts. Ok boys, let me have it.

Try having to listen to John Sterling if you think Scully is trying to be cute - I would trade for Scully in a NY minute. Just has an old time feel that makes listening to the game enjoyable to me.

That's exactly who I was referring to in my post right above yours. That guy sounds like a complete idiot.

Well, I am listening to Vin tonight because I have action on the game.
His voice for some reason is just like fingernails on a blackboard. He tries to be too cute in trying to broadcast a game.
Thank god I can get the Astros play by play guys.

I think after all these years that Vin has a certain "pattern" of delivery that may seem canned that some may feel is being too cute so I don't fault your judgement.

For others of us who have been listening to him on TV and radio since the 60's, it reminds us of our youth listening to baseball and all the joys that brings in our later years.

If you've lived in Sioux City most of your life you'll remember listening to Vin on KTIV, Channel 4.

I grew up a little farther north of there but we could get KTIV if we adjusted the antenna just right. I think KCAU was the only ABC station we could get for a while back in the 60's until a new station could be built.

Well, just tuned in the Dodgers game. How can everyone think Vin is the best ever. This guy is like chalk on a blackboard for me.

He tries to be too cute with the things he says.

Oh well...That is my vent for the night.

Vin is the only one left of the oldschool announcers, and their style. When listening to a game being called by Vin Scully it takes me back to the past and how baseball was once called, before I was even born.

Is he my favorite? No. But he's the last of his kind, and I appreciate every chance I get to listen to mr. Scully call a baseball game.

Enjoy him when you can, as he will only be calling games for one-three years.

I am as old school as you are going to get and Vin is just plain bad...in my opinion. I love all the old guys that did the games but this guy to me is terrible. I just do not get why everyone just loves this guy.

LOL...Good one gyno.

I am a HUGE MLB fan and watch all the games on Directv. I know that it is not a popular opinion, but I can not stand Vin. All his little cutesy things that he says drives me crazy.

Vin Scully is like your old senile Grandpa who tells you the same stories each time you see him.
