I predict ODU MAKES SWEET 16 this year...

You heard it here FIRST!!!!
Impossible to make such a prediction now. What if they get an 8 or 9 seed and run up against a #1 seed in the 2nd round. You think they can knock off a top seed? I think ODU MAY be capable of winning 1 tournament game if they face the right team, but to win 2 games would require "the perfect storm". I'd make ODU winning 2 tournament games a 20-1 shot at least.

If ODU wins their conference tournament, they should get in.

If not, they will probably go to Nit-wit tourney.

ODU will WIN their conference tourney, period...

I have absolutely NO DOUBT....

No other team in their conference come close to them...

However, for arguement's sake, if their RPI stays in the 30's, I assure you they would indeed get an AT LARGE bid regardless of whether they win their tourney!

If they lose in their tourney, how will they be in the 30's? They have to win tourney to get in. How can two teams from this conference make the bigdance?

If ODU ran the table and lost in the FINALS OF THEIR CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT, they would wind up 29-4...

I believe that would be good enough for an at large bid....

Many teams have failed to make it over the years with fewer losses.

They must win tourney to get in.

Homerism at its best. They are 18-3 in that conference. They got beat by a community college. They just got beat by a team that stinks a couple nights ago.

Even if they do run the table and win their tourney how manyother nice midlevel conference teams are there out there? The ONLY thing that keeps them in the discussion is that this is clearly a down year in NCAA hoops.

Too many players leaving early from college and trying to go straight from high school has killed it for themost part.

But the top 20 teams or so are all pretty even, then you have Ill and North Car. And even NC has lost twice.

if you want to talk about respect, how about BC. they are not flashy, they are not impressive soemtimes, but they win. A close win is sometimes harder to obtain than a blow out. I almost sh it my pants when they were ranked ahead of Duke. Which thhey probably should have been for awhile now.

But at least they play a tourney in hoops so we can see what is up. Unfortunatley I suspect BC will be placed in a horrid bracket and have a very tough road to make it very far. Just like they do with all the other "party crashers" in the big dance. Sowhile they doplay the games, they can make it very difficult for the non glamour teams to get very far.

Wow, never thought about it before, but they may indeed be on a BIG bubble if they lose their conf. tourney.

Just depends on how many teams bust during the conference tourney. If all favorites win then more spots for the lone team that chokes. I think ODU can surpass some of the junk in the Big Ten and Pac Ten. Both conferences have 3 teams with easy ins and the rest may not be deserving over a team like ODU. Colonial isn't usually a bad conference but just having a down year outside of ODU.

Last year, Utah St had 3 losses, was nationally ranked, and got left out. I'm pretty sure the 3 losses included the loss in the conference tourney. You never know what those tournament guys are thinking.

I believe ODU plays on ESPN 2 a week from Saturday against VCU. A lot may ride on how good they look as far as having any chance for an at large bid...

They are very much on the bubble if they don't win their conference.

The RPI is used by the committee to really determine the field of 65.

BTW I think Vermont and Wichita State while a tad high on this list aren't that far off.
