A few things here.
1. No way in hell do I agree that any tax rate should be 70%.
2. However, you guys are acting like these people would actually be taxed at 70%. umm, no they wouldn't. They would find enough loopholes ect to bring that number way way down. In the 1950's the top marginal rate was 91% and the effective tax rate for the top 1% was 42%, which btw, 42% is still a stupid amount of taxes that nobody should pay but I'm just saying.
3. My idea for taxes would be to be taxed 0 on the first 15k if single and 30k if married and then every penny is taxed at whatever number makes the math work after that for every worker. Say that number is 25%. So a married couple pays 0 on the first 30k and 25% on everything after that. No loopholes. That way everyone pays an equal share. Done. Easy.
