A friend from work got married last year....the girls from work were invited, i dont even know if our husbands/significant others were invited...i never even thought to ask as it was just us girls from work making up a table, hanging out etc. i didnt even think twice and can understand not inviting spouses/sig others...maybe its just me.

A lot of people in NYC get married guests only, no +1, its always because of costs. If you're having a wedding for 150 people, adding +1 to everyone makes it ridiculously expensive. Some couples you have to invite both, some you don't. It's all about how well you know the people. If they're only friends from work, and you dont even know the couple, don't feel bad if they didnt invite you.
