Palm on 45th and 2nd is the most like Peter Luger's, if you like that old school feeling where the waiters are old men and the bartenders serve manly drinks. Feels like you stepped back into the 50's at both places. Luger's is a pain in the ass to get to, and hundreds of tourists in there.
Striphouse is more of an intimate date place, it's a converted stripclub with a lot of red velvet on the walls, dark, etc.
Personally, I like Del Frisco's on 48th and 6th. Get a table upstairs and there's a nice view of Radio City Music Hall, makes your guests feel like they're in a classy NYC place. Steaks are real good, and they have some of the better seafood for a starter.
