Brady is 3-4 in Super Bowls if Seattle n ATL don't literally hand him the trophy. He's played for the best coach to ever coach in the NFL. Brady is too 10 all time but he's not top 5 in my book. Peyton was better

Any more threads you can make a fool of yourself in ?

This is a quote that has no logic..So you only count the two losses to Giants as legit...YOU know the Patriots lost on two big plays in those games? David Tyree doesn't catch ball add another win 6-1 and if Manningham down sideline gets hit and loses it, he's 7-0..

i can make a legitimate argument that Tony Romo is better then Brady. Romo has a better completion % more yards per attempt and a higher passer rating and QBR.

superbowls are a team stat not a way to judge players that's my opinion

Stats wise and field general - "maybe" Manning.
Result - Brady by landslide

You mean Joe Montana.....Yes

Lets put this to rest.

Walsh/Montana 4-0 1.000%
Brady/Belichick 5-2 .714%

And Montana played before the skirt era, where hard hits, play after play, year after year, were part of the game.
I'll give you Peyton though.

Lol. By that standard anyone that's 1 and done is better than TB at 100% .
Gotta disagree, 7 trips and 5 rings beat 4-0 any day. And no, we don't wanna compare era...Just strictly numbers.
Enjoy it while it last as we witness the best ever in our lifetime. Even if many don't like the Pats

Part of the reason 49ers went 4-0 in the Super Bowl was because they got eliminated before they got to the Super Bowl.

why didn't Montana play in more SB's?

Do you actually think it's better to lose before you get there than it is the lose when you get there?

why did Montana play in only 6 Conference Championship games? going 4-2? Brady is 7-4. Do you think 4-2 is better than 7-4 too?

Total playoffs; Brady 25-9 and Montana 16-7

Career record regular season

TB 183-52 77.9%
JM 117-47 71.3%

For the record, I don't believe any of this in and by itself proves who's better, and I don't think anyone can win these arguments

But if you do so strongly that you think this "puts it to rest", then you have to conclude Brady is better

He's more accomplished, give him that. At that level, better is really a matter of opinion.

To answer the original question, YES Brady is better then Manning, Peyton is the most overrated QB of our time dating back to his college years when the year after he leaves Tennessee they win the National Championship. Just curious about the # of Super Bowls meaning someone is the GOAT. Is Charles Haley better then LT because he has more rings OR because he spent a lot of his career with better teammates? For ppl in their 50's like me or older were we saying in the 1970's that Franco Harris or Hell even Rocky Bleier was better then OJ Simpson because they had more rings? Are we saying John Riggins is better then Barry Sanders because he has more rings? Is it cut and dried Bradshaw is better then Elway because he has more rings? Is Joe Morris better then Eric Dickerson because he has more rings? As far as amount of appearances in the Super Bowl and Montana with 4, does someone think his path to the SB in the 1980's for example getting thru the 1985 Bears was a little tougher then TB having to beat Houston in a gimme game and Pittsburgh. Again not blasting the Pats as a sports Bettor I love a team that's 16 and 3 ATS....

The only problem with this (besides the fact that Brady played in 3 more Super Bowls), is that SF could spend as much money as they wanted.

The Pats can only spend the same as everybody else. HUGE (like Trump HUUUUGE) difference.

SF in the 1980's, like Pittsburgh in the 1970's, didn't get their wins by spending huge money, they built unbelievable teams via the draft, getting guys in later rounds that nobody else wanted that ended up Hall of Famers. Kinda like NE with Brady. There was next to no free agency in those days so opening the checkbook generally wasn't gonna bring in a Payton or Marino. The spending money to a championship was Jerry Jones's pet in the early 1990's at Dallas. But you gotta hand it to Belichick and Kraft- they handle the salary cap MUCH better then any other organization.

Graham/Brown - 7
Starr/Lombardi - 5
Brady/Belichick - 5

When it comes to QB/HC duos that's your gold standard.

I can answer the question about Montana.

Dude was fragile as glass. Back problems started to rear its head around '86 or so and it was a weekly battle getting him on the field. Missed a few games every year before Leonard Marshall ended his reign as an elite player in the 1990 NFC Championship game.

Had some awful games in the playoffs as well. Got knocked around by the Giants in '85 and '86, Vikings in '87 while going one and done all three seasons.

He was pretty much untouchable when he wasn't harried or hurt but the latter happened often.
