The majority of ESPN Baseball Experts/Prime Time Game Announcers such as Tim McCarver, et al., every chance they get, all agree Yankee problems are specifically in the starting pitching department. There are too many question marks to even begin to put the Yankees ahead of the Red Sox, Texas, and the Phillies. Outside Sabathia, beating teams like Minnesota, Oakland and Kansas City and Baltimore, is nothing to brag about. Don't let those victories fool you. These are teams that they are supposed to beat. So, we shall see. The recent success of the "problem pitchers" the Yankees present as possible Division Champs or Wild Card winners, is nothing more than a real crap shoot! I can't wait for the upcoming Red Sox series! $$$$$

ill chime in, i think texas is a good good team... best baserunning team in baseball? i would say so, but stats proves the yankees are the best running team in baseball... just a fact, not being a dick

i think texas may be a tad better than the red sox because of their lineup and depth 1-5 in SP...

but everyones knock on the yanks is their SP, i think same can be said about the rangers pitching, i dont think their SP is good, im sorry i just dont, good ERAs good young guys, but i wouldnt count on them in a big series ...last year they were GREAT, but also cliff lee made that starting pitching staff great... but i think the rangers are maybe a tad better than the sox, and maybe a knotch below yanks...but all 3 are very very good teams and can be ranked in any order in the AL.. i just am not scared of the rangers if we see them in the playoffs, not sure off hand the season record against the rangers but i think yanks have beaten them 5 out or 8? 6 out of 8? yanks have good numbers against the rangers pitching.... i think if they play sox first round in playoffs i think they knock sox off first round...good team

Stats might say the yankees are as good or better than rangers running, but we have eyes. Nobody runs as good as the rangers top to bottom. Imo, between these 3 teams in the playoffs, its just gonna boil down to who is swinging the bats better at the time. As a ranger fan, id rather face the red sox, because other than the rangers dominating the yankees in playoffs last year, the yankees have the rangers number. I personally don't think the sox have the consistency with the bats this year to beat either the rangers or yankees, but hell who knows. If we knew, wed be rich and wouldn't be debating the topic at the RX forum.

uhhhh hmmmm. 13-4. was in triple a for a month as well. 13 wins as a rookie and 10-0 in last 10 starts.

Nova isn't taking this team anywhere

by the way found out Fh is a red sox fan

Mink- I'm not a Red Sox fan. I'm a handicapper. If you are going to make remarks regarding me, keep it honest. What is honest is I was 14-1 today in MLB, what were you? Good Luck!

P.S. That included straight plays and (RL's) prop bets! I let my handicapping do 80 %of my talking! Good Luck!

Fatass Colon getting shelled, now..

Last time Chubby Chub Colon worked against Rays, the radio guys were saying he throws about 95% fastballs and therefore relies totally on location to get over.

I think that strategy has long term success up until about AA.....god bless the man for raking a few more million on behalf of his family

He's worked 70 starts in the past six years due to poor physical health and his extremely limited tools.

As I said, it's remarkable that he's still earning almost a million bucks this season

Of course that is NYY money which as we all know is about 3x the normal market rate for a MLB player. In reality, his "900K" salary means he's worth about the league minimum to other clubs

Soriano to Robertson to Mo is greater than the two Texas set up men (Oliver, adams?) to Feliz.
You tripping dude?

Teixeira > Young.,
You tripping again dude?
Young has that lofty average, yes, good contact hitter, the only thing Young does better than Tex is hit for average.
Young is mediocre fielding firstbase man, Tex is on another planet defensively, not even close.
Tex has superior power numbers.

Comparing Rodriquez to andrus is like comparing two question marks, both have been hurt all year.
I will take my chances with a healthy Rodriquez though.

Torrealba and Martin is a wash, give me Torre for average, give me Martin for power, both are very good in all areas as catchers.

Grandy is a MVP candidate, however clear edge to the corner outfielders with Cruz and Hamilton with Texas.

Kinsler is not Cano, sorry, ask yourself this? What does Kinsler do better than Cano?
He hits 50 points lower, has fewer power numbers, lower on base percentage, both play solid defense.
Only thing Kinsler does better than Cano is steal bases.

Rangers have the superior starting rotation

I agree, player for player yanks are better than rangers and I'm a ranger fan....good thing baseball isn't one on one or the rangers would get beat. It's a team sport and as of right now, the rangers are the defending American league champs. Beat us in a playoff series and we will happily pass the torch as we always have, but right now the rangers look like a pretty tough ball club to beat come playoffs.

agreed on all... andrus over arod is comical that he even brings it up, arod is the cleanup hitter for one of the best offenses in football look at his numbers and he has missed 2 months of games this year

texas Sp superior to yankees might be a stretch...

sabathia >>>>>> CJ wilson
nova >> ogondo
matt harrison > colon
holland > garcia
hughes > whomever their 5th starter is

also SP ERA is lower for yanks, so the numbers back it up

yankees won 2 years ago, yankees won the season series this year, ill tell you the rangers were a better team last year but that is because they had a guy named cliff lee as their ace who carried them over the yankees winning 2 games out of the 4 the rangers won

cliff lee is not a ranger now so the yankees have the btter team, but as you saw in my previous posts....i said rangers are better than the red sox and i think are just a tad behind the yankees... i think they are great so dont get me wrong here but i think the BP of the yankees and the better lineup puts them ove the top

I think Yall should start a thread and see who is better. Every bet is to win one unit and 5 units is max win on a bet, so obviously you can risk more than 5 units but can only win 5 units on a single game. 3 picks a day whoever wins the most unit by next Monday is the winner.....

I'm not bashing on the yanks either. I'm not a Yankee fan, but I'm a fan of a lot of their players. It all boils down to who is playing better come playoff time, simple as that...if we knew, we wouldn't be debating it. BTW, rangers bullpen is pretty solid these days
