I was just fucking around when I suggested handcuffs. Silly me.

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA), a member
of the House Intelligence Committee and the House Oversight Committee said the House has
the power to “handcuff” someone who refuses to testify, and stated she’s “going to start
with Mr. Barr and bring him in.”

if she want's to handcuff somebody ...... i'm more than willing :hahahahah i love older woman

An observasion from Scott McCay…

The Democrat Party has run afoul of the ancient nostrum that if you strike at the king, you must kill him,
and the price for that mistake will soon be upon them. Because what Barr has perceived, which no one seriously
doubts — and that includes those Capitol Hill Democrats who so loudly denounce the Attorney General — is the
entire Trump-Russia collusion narrative was a bought-and-paid-for lie of the Clinton campaign, fed through the
intelligence and law enforcement apparatus of the Obama administration to give it false legitimacy and to
weaponize it against Candidate and then President Trump, and perpetuated in an attempt to destroy his presidency
and effect a de facto coup d’état against the duly-elected leader of the free world.

And Barr is now the instrument of the destruction of those Obama administration and Clinton campaign operatives,
who are now faced with horrors — legal, financial, and reputational — to come which may not be avoided.

Investigations have begun; recriminations are coming.

[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]You're probably right. I've been butt fucked some many times by the Republicans
that it doesn't hurt anylonger. Plus I'm impatient.

Trump is a different animal. He's not a politician. I can only hope he holds a
grudge like the Clintons. Barr appears willing and able to hump the deep state.

So the table is set, just waiting for the meal to be served.

Petulant children.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said on Friday that House Democrats are considering fines on Trump
administration officials in order to enforce contempt actions.

He said Democrats could use Congress' “inherent contempt power" to try to force officials to obey subpoenas.

“"Much as I like the visual of [throwing people in jail], I think it's far more practical to consider levying
individual fines on the person — not the office — until they comply,” Schiff, a frequent target of personal
attacks by President Donald Trump, told Axios' Mike Allen at a Friday morning newsmaker event. “You could fine
someone $25,000 a day until they comply. You can do that. We're looking through the history and studying the
law to make sure we're on solid ground."

What happened to the handcuffs?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General William Barr has appointed a U.S. attorney to examine the origins of the Russia investigation and determine if intelligence collection involving the Trump campaign was “lawful and appropriate,” according to a person familiar with the issue.

Barr appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to conduct the inquiry, the person said. The person could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke Monday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

With the appointment, Barr is addressing a rallying cry of President Donald Trump and his supporters, who have accused the Justice Department and FBI of unlawfully spying on his campaign.

Democrats have accused Trump of using the allegations to divert attention from special counsel Robert Mueller’s findings that Russia aided Trump’s 2016 campaign and that he could not exonerate the president on the question of whether he tried to impede Mueller’s investigation. Mueller did not find a criminal conspiracy between the campaign and the Kremlin.

Durham’s appointment comes about a month after Barr told members of Congress he believed “spying did occur” on the Trump campaign in 2016. He later said he didn’t mean anything pejorative and was gathering a team to look into the origins of the special counsel’s investigation.

Barr provided no details about what “spying” may have taken place but appeared to be alluding to a surveillance warrant the FBI obtained on a former Trump associate, Carter Page, and the FBI’s use of an informant while the bureau was investigating former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos.

FBI Director Chris Wray said last week that he does not consider court-approved FBI surveillance to be “spying” and said he has no evidence the FBI illegally monitored Trump’s campaign.

Durham’s inquiry, which will focus on whether the government’s methods to collect intelligence relating to the Trump campaign were lawful and appropriate, is separate from an investigation by the Justice Department’s inspector general. The agency’s watchdog is also examining the Russia probe’s origins and Barr has said he expects the watchdog report to be done in May or June.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions had appointed another U.S. attorney, John Huber, in March 2018 to review aspects of the Russia investigation, following grievances from Republican lawmakers.

The review by Huber, Utah’s top federal prosecutor and an Obama administration holdover, is a “full, complete and objective evaluation” of Republican concerns, Sessions said at the time.

Congressional Republicans have also indicated they intend to examine how the investigation that shadowed Trump’s presidency for nearly two years began and whether there are any legal concerns.

Durham is a career prosecutor who was nominated for his post as U.S. attorney in Connecticut by Trump. He has previously investigated law enforcement corruption, the destruction of CIA videotapes and the Boston FBI office’s relationship with mobsters.

Durham was unanimously confirmed by the Senate in 2018. At the time, Connecticut’s two Democratic senators, Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, called Durham a “fierce, fair prosecutor” who knows how to try tough cases.

In addition to conducting the inquiry, Durham will continue to serve as the chief federal prosecutor in Connecticut.

Sure does. This is the first I've heard from him since his appointment. He certainly doesn't seem to be taking any initiatives to go after the scoundrels, any of them and there are many.

@npfandos

Today at a law enforcement ceremony at Capitol:AG Barr approached Pelosi, shook her hand: "Madam Speaker, did you bring your handcuffs?"Pelosi smiled and, per a bystander, told Barr the House Sergeant at Arms was there should an arrest be needed. Barr laughed; walked away
