Not cool - Big Swing on those standing
** do you guys think the owners and coaches don’t get pissed? How do you think that is handled?
Also, why didnt Detroit coach Challenge that PI call for themselves?
You can also add in addition to that the 5 FGs DET settled for.. Make 1 TD they win.. Refs did screw them tho..
I had GB -4.. OMG score the TD at the end
TR: So you are saying the NFL fixed the total to be an under? For Vegas? That is a reach if I ever saw one...
But I do not believe that Vegas controls the refs for outcomes, and especially not an over / under, give me a break.
- I think the players these days are too strong and way too fast for the refs, and more importantly, the players have found ways to cheat. Eg last night the head snap both times when #90 pushed OL players upper pads (not face) deked refs into assuming it was illegal contact to the face
- I also think, yes, that sometimes a ref will help a team for his own wager, but it is rare.
- I also think, yes, that sometimes a ref (or a few in the same game) are secretly instructed to help one team for better NFL brand recognition, better ratings for the playoffs.
Try officiating a game sometime.
I am as annoyed as anyone else by refs controlling the game, but they are an essential part of the game and their job is more difficult than people imagine.
I tried spotting the ball in a game once and it's amazing how much of a guess it is with everything moving so fast and chaotic - the pro refs still get it right most of the time...
I do agree though that NFL officials should be made full time employees with extra training in the offseason, there is simply too much money on the line.
Totally agree.
Again, athletes are too strong and fast for the officials these days, and have figured out how to game the system.
Eg, certain downs, field postition, yardage and clock/game situations, DBs are rewarded for holding calls (5 yards), it they get away with it, fine, if not, it's only 5 yards.
TRY opening your eyes and telling the difference of hands to the CHEST and hands to the FACE and "missing" that call more than once on the same player, where it actually determined the outcome. This has nothing to do with game speed and everything to do with an agenda.Try officiating a game sometime.

NFC North:
Packers 5-1
Vikings 4-2
Bears 3-2
Lions 2-2-1
NFC North (if Lions won)
Lions 3-1-1
Packers 4-2
Vikings 4-2
Bears 3-2
Refs inability to get basic calls correct are literally the difference between first place and last place for the Lions
Seems like you don’t know the rules either, so why you in a big ol huff?yup, how many times have we heard 'a hold can be called on every play' and 'that's not PI, that's just hand-fighting' - the rules are subjective and thus will always be subject to controversy
Some teams like the Patriots clearly coach their DBs to walk the line since the reward is so high, and I'm sure linemen are taught sneaky ways to hold etc
Btw, on both of those controversial calls on Trey Flowers last night - i agree he didn't put his hands to the face but he sure as hell had a hold of the guy lol
