The touts are the ones screaming out at us to come buy their picks, etc. We're worse as this finer pack of play pushers publish Newsletters that we grab and too often use one or more of their top plays with little success. Not a good season by any means. Even dog players didn't do well ( before this past weekend ). Best of luck to you and all.

I have been playin 49 years. I am in the longest losing streak I have ever had. In fact, I have had zero winning weeks. My previous longest streaks which have happened many a time from year round playing back in the day was 4 weeks. I am sitting at 13 right now. Granted, it is tougher these days as the numbers are way tighter and i ain't exactly been doin well myself. Holding my own in NFL but colleges are a joke with the portal and the NIL player movements. Have had three positive NCAA weeks but lost in pros those weeks. I have down sized my plays to what used be beer bill darts or pizza bets, whatever ya want to call them, so I ain't gettin hurt really but c'mon. My hook ration is like 4/1 losers and I've gotten backdoored so many times my farts are silent. Sorry for the rant and I know it's in the wrong place

Bimmer, personally I never follow any touts play. instead the info goes into my yellow pads, and at best might push me towards or away from a play I'd already decided on. I track a lot of "so called experts" and you'd be stunned how frequent ~50% is the result. Within a few points on either side.

If you are new to this develop some skills, learn to evaluate data, and compile info, injuries etc. remember you need ~53-54% to break even.

Pointwise Basketball:

Pointwise likes to predict HIGH scores in football as well as basketball. Here are some examples this week:

Duke vs. Michigan State predicts 163 points (total is 139)

Arizona State vs. Oklahoma predicts 176 points (total is 157)

UCLA vs. Oregon predicts 170 points (total is 144)

San Diego State vs. Lamar predicts 169 points (total is 141)

St Johns vs. Ole Miss predicts 181 points (total is 154)

Houston vs. Jackson State predicts 167 points (total is 132) Off by 35 points!

1. You are spot on on the NCAAF for sure. Back in the day I would play 6-8 games on Saturdays and cherry pick 2-4 games on Sunday and close my eyes. Now it's almost the complete opposite. The NFL seems easier to dissect than the colleges in football due to your comments on portal and NIL movements. It's a slippery road for sure. Thru the fisrt nine weeks of NCAAF I went 10-20-2 ATS with so many close loses it was disgusting. So, I just stopped. That is by far my worst performance in many many years.

CFB has gotten MUCH harder, just the past few years - especially if you don't have access to early lines from Circa, FD, or DK. Think about it, just a few years ago 5Dimes, and BetOnline would have terrible openers, many a TD or more off. Plus situational spots rarely (it seems like) were baked into the line. They are now - see a spot you like, you'll pay a heavy tax for the privilege.

Market corrections took until Monday or Tuesday - now by the time my offshore book posts numbers, most mistakes are already corrected. MyBookie will post a few (copied from FD/DK) - like midnite to 4am, but that's about it.

I used to consistently hit 57-62% regular season, and would be pissed at 55% or so - NOW I think 55% would be considered a solid year. I'm now happy just to come out ahead. My income source has turned into a cheap 'hobby' .... kinda sorta.

AND ...... manage to win some money? - many books will refuse your business......

With you on the 57-62%. but then it was win on Sat. Give much of back on Sun. I'm certain its different now. Question is, what exactly has changed. Parity, tighter lines? is it reversible? Or is this just the new reality. Its an incredible understatement to say sprtsfrk you are not alone. My friend we are now the new majority. Sprtsfrk, I apologize for my earlier comments had no idea you were coming up on 50 yrs..

With this impacting so many of us, I wonder if we can't collectively find a way to offset it. Clearly theres been a change, or changes. I started in 1968, while in the army. The guys I worked with moonlighted to doing camera work at the games. Dal, Hou. Nothing like inside info. i hate losing, regardless of the amount. Newtons 3rd law. For every action theres an equal an opposite reaction. Can we undo it, unwind it.....or is now so random, that its nearing coin flip level. I reject random, its just the parameters we used to value, are lessened now.

I apologize, for thinking aloud. I started to erase this. But I think this is the road we need to collectively explore.

Interesting takes on college and pro football betting by all. I usually don’t bet a lot on nfl games. heritage sportsbook has a grand salami wager on the nfl Sunday games that I like.
college this year I started out doing great ( minus the confident point spead wager on Alabama vs fsu) but boy did i end the regular season on a losing steak.
