His newsletter is a good read, just don't follow the picks.

It strikes me that Lawrence's system/trends handicapping is seriously flawed. If X-team is 11-0 ATS on the road, after playing the Cowboys, when they're getting between 3 and 7.5 points, since 2002. That's just a statistical quirk. It's probably more likely that the law of averages catches up to them and they finally lose.

Yep, it's shocking to me, that guys still read the newsletters for the picks. Most have great info - that saves a ton of time/work. USE THEIR INFO - MAKE YOUR OWN PICKS.

Wow is Marc Lawrence ever shit. It's like Brandon Lang all over again. Great fade material. Thanks again for all your hard work Buzz
For years, ML & Playbook have consistently done what they do, they have a weekly newsletter with stats and trends, years ago trends were your friend and for some occasions trends can help, the info that's posted in their newsletters is valuable, no one is putting words in your mouth to take Playbook newsletter picks, do you own capping using their head to head matchups, last years' scores, info on the players playing or out and make a quantifiable decision and you can have success. If you play their picks, just use smart money management, bet equally across those picks, even if they're posting 3* 4* and 5* picks, just use the same equal money management you use yourself when you determine your picks. Again, the info is valuable whether fading the picks or passing or deciding you agree, it's your decision, no one else's.

couldn't agree more. Even bad write ups can be valuable information, it just might reinforce your own opinion.

The best newsletter on the planet is....The Midweek Alert.
It gives you organized data, that when looking for results and why they happened is helpful. Especially after 4 weeks of games. Before that - no one has a good read on any team for the current season.
Its the spread that needs to be valued. Not the just selection. If You spend larger dollars on M-Lines you will defintately win money. The larger the line - the more likely to win. It must be dissected into Division games vs non division and home and away. Much of the lines are based on those factors. Not so much the overall records.

More important is COMMON OPPONENTS> Those are games that give you a little edge.
Take a good look at the Midweek Alert stats for the playoffs and the superbowl macthups. That's where the Midweek Alert stands out over every other news letter. There is NO BAD information in a news letter, regadless of who posts one. The data gives the gambler good info when its correct. Not the stories.

I do make my own picks. Doesn't mean I don't fade his. Agreed the actual write-ups are good.
