Time to Start Studying

and if you think I'm joking/kidding, I am not. One of the files prints 113 pages - got enough ink? A little over a month and counting. Time to begin focussing on the year's best day.

KD
1/ 7 (2/4/24) [$30]
2/ $2 ex box: 3,4,5,8 [$24]
2/ $2 tri: 4,8 with 3,4,5,8 with 3,4,5,8 [$24]
2/ $1 sup: 4,8 with 3,4,5,8 with 3,4,5,8 with 3,4,5,8 [$12]
4/ 20/0/0 on 1,6 and 8 IF ALL THREE ARE 5/2 of BETTER (2mtp) [$60]
6/ 20/0/0 on 1,2 and 3 IF ALL THREE ARE 5/2 of BETTER (2mtp) [$60]

10/ Playing the 5 and the 6 at the other's odds and adding a zero
to the wager. For clarity, the ml's are 3:1 on number 5 and 6:1
on number 6; the wager would then be 60/0/0 on number 3 and 30/0/0
on number 6. One should try to wait as late as they can when making
this type of wager (1mtp or less) but you run the risk of being
shutout. For here, my wagers will be based upon 1 mtp.
11/ 8 (2/2/16) [$20]
12/ No wager for here but like the one and seven but haven't
come up with a wager for them (yet). This race is slated for a
five thirty-six (local time) P.M..

Thanks for the response in my thread.

Ok, so if there is any scratch in a race you have bet on, the whole race does not count, or you just never put your bet in for that race?

I, for example, put all of my bets in on Pinny at 12 noon EST yesterday. Pinny only cancelled one of my bets, whereas you had a bunch of bets cancelled it seems. Do you wait until right before the race, and if there have been any scratches, you do not put your bet through?

If this is the case, is there any setting on Pinny that would allow me to cancel bets due to scratches, or is this just the benefit of waiting until right before the race to place bets?

Thanks.

Acez... Not speaking for PacMan here, but when I'm playing the ponies, I like to assign odds to horses I'm watching. If the horses go below those odds, I'll almost always pass on the race. A few scratches in a race will rarely increase my horses expected odds.
Pinny doesn't have any settings like you mentioned.

You are correct if there's any scratch for the races listed, there is no wager. Be it the chosen one(s) or others UNLESS I am here (on-line) wagering; scratches are no plays for here - remember what I list here is in advance of the scratches and have no control over he is/isn't heading to post.

Pinny is fine for on-line, as are youbet and other sportsbooks. If I'm not here wagering race by race, I'm either at the track listed or one close by (yes, sometimes I'll go to the dog track and wager the t'breds). One of the features youbet has is that they allow you to cancell any wagers PRIOR to the race going off (limitted number of time but better than none) if you placed you wagers earlier in the day and came back to watch the race and/or check the results.

There will be a time when I will do a few lives races and in those cases I'll know about the scrathes and can adjust the figures/calculations and post any adjustment(s) needed.

Thanks for reading and hope this helps.

Having your own ml, value selections and rating system is a given/granted. Those who have been wagering this for a while should have an idea of what the odds. Most (all?) tracks have some sort of tv person who pick for that track. Alot of the sheep will follow those $4.00 (or less) winners pushing the price even lower - fine by me, give me 3+ win/place tickets (same amount each race) in which the winner pays double digits and I'll make some cash.

Scrathes are a tough issue for advance selections. If a horse gets scratched for whatever reason, the pace senerio will be effected. For example, you have two early speed tpyes in the race and one of them scratches. The track was been playing to the speed all day. This make that horse even more dangerous (lone early speed). This is why I keep it simple for record keeping here - if there's a scratch (any) in the race listed, it's not a play.

Thanks for reading and responding to the comments/questions.
