I agree, I thought he should not have won either. Grizz had such good team defense that year, Gasol was given more credit than he deserved. But that was somewhat of my point. How can he be considered underrated still but winning an award that is debatable if he deserved it?

Because it isn't debateable he deserved it to anyone really.

Last year he missed 23 games, Memph was 10-13 in those games. In games he has played the last 2 years they've won 2/3rds of their games roughly. Their defensive #s aren't even close with/without him in the lineup.

Better question is how do you bury someone under a sports den? Cruise might show you the answer to that one if you step into his domain...

Then he calls for his wife to cook him dinner and puts his 7 TVs back on while lounging...

I thought Hibbert was gonna bust out and be one of the best players in the league last year - man did he disappoint

Bosh isn't overrated at all - it's common knowledge he sucks and has a vagina

Well they both have max deals....

I don't know about Hibbert's K but in Bosh's situation I think they didn't want to see the team totally implode - they would not have gotten Deng and would have finished bottom 3-4 teams - had Lebron resigned Bosh was taking a major haircut - he just got lucky financially that Lebron took off

Houston offered him 4/88 so if Miami tried to get too cute with him he would've just fled.

I think if people had the hindsight benefit of watching the Grizzlies w/o him for 23 games a year later it would've been a much bigger landslide.

Again, they went 10-13 and their D was mediocre w/o him. Think of how good you have to be defensively to average 14-15pts a game yet your team wins 20% more when your in the lineup.

Well he won DPOY so I think he got the respect that year.... He didnt make 1st Team All Defense though, which I always think is weird when that happens...
But Tony Allen missed some of those 23 games also in that stretch and he is no where near the defender he was the previous year

DPOY is an individual award and Lebron made his case for debate pretty strong that year

Who knows, my guess is he'll get back to his 60% ways sooner or later.

I said I was off him before the year but even moreso now. Without 3 HOFers around him his offense has become exposed more than ever. The game has changed a lot in just the last 5 years as well, teams can really suck the value out of a guy who can't shoot now. If you can't shoot and your playing on the perimeter in the NBA nowadays you better have a hell of a skillset to offset that. In the last 6 mins when it slows down he just sticks out like a sore thumb.

He is playing for about 50 million in opportunity cost this year (give or take) so any lack of motivation from playing on a bad team for the 1st time in his career wouldn't really be an excuse either.

He is playing so bad even the Knicks might not be dumb enough to overpay him!

Ha, I like that. I'd be shocked if the Knicks don't end up with Gasol.

Yeah, as a life-long Celtics fan, I'm not impressed with how Rondo has been playing... Sadly it's going to be a long time before that team is a contender.
