I would be willing to bet he isn't smoking weed to cope with pain from football. He just likes getting high, bottom line. As a owner of construction firm, I drug test randomly. I personally don't hate the drug, I just have to have people think with a clear mind. If I owned an nfl team I would feel the same way.
Each person should be accountable to themselves and if their production is slipping then they should make adjustments as the employer wants results although operating heavy machinery constantly would be one of the things where testing should be required.........
I've done it before, but was so mad at my production from a mental standpoint that I was like I'm not doing it again while working....Thus, it is only bad if it affects performance in my opinion which varies from each sector so to have one standard across the board via a random test is illogical in my opinion, especially since some drink cold ones before, during, and after work or during the weekend which can be even worse at times.
What is America's obsession with weed. The majority of pot smokers are ugly and have permanent zits. Don't often see clean good looking pot smokers.

And in this case of the NFL the policy makes no sense as Josh Gordon and many other NFL players will still make plays on Sunday whether they smoked marijuana during the week or not or drank alcohol.....There is not enough of a correlation here so the policy here is illogical in my opinion.
When you have people in a position of important decisions on a daily basis, it is required. Same can be said of alcohol. The issue with weed is it can be tough to smell or to see if someone is under the influence. All my employee's are superintendents, estimators, project managers, purchasers, etc. It is what it is, you just can't smoke if you want a career in a corporate type setting. I would think most folks who smoke are either retired, a low level employee, or self employed. Just reality. I don't care if someone smokes weed, they just won't work for my firm.
