What is America's obsession with weed. The majority of pot smokers are ugly and have permanent zits. Don't often see clean good looking pot smokers.

I would be willing to bet he isn't smoking weed to cope with pain from football. He just likes getting high, bottom line. As a owner of construction firm, I drug test randomly. I personally don't hate the drug, I just have to have people think with a clear mind. If I owned an nfl team I would feel the same way.

Each person should be accountable to themselves and if their production is slipping then they should make adjustments as the employer wants results although operating heavy machinery constantly would be one of the things where testing should be required.........

I've done it before, but was so mad at my production from a mental standpoint that I was like I'm not doing it again while working....Thus, it is only bad if it affects performance in my opinion which varies from each sector so to have one standard across the board via a random test is illogical in my opinion, especially since some drink cold ones before, during, and after work or during the weekend which can be even worse at times.

And in this case of the NFL the policy makes no sense as Josh Gordon and many other NFL players will still make plays on Sunday whether they smoked marijuana during the week or not or drank alcohol.....There is not enough of a correlation here so the policy here is illogical in my opinion.

First that's a mirror you're looking into

Second, I smoke weed and I'd bet you'd turn gay, (if you're not already) if you saw me, I'm handsome.

Lol. Well, Brad Pitt, I think he was referring to most of the pot smokers, you might be the exception.

When you have people in a position of important decisions on a daily basis, it is required. Same can be said of alcohol. The issue with weed is it can be tough to smell or to see if someone is under the influence. All my employee's are superintendents, estimators, project managers, purchasers, etc. It is what it is, you just can't smoke if you want a career in a corporate type setting. I would think most folks who smoke are either retired, a low level employee, or self employed. Just reality. I don't care if someone smokes weed, they just won't work for my firm.

Umm, smoking marijuana is mostly illegal in the US without a prescription? Is that enough of a correlation?

Not so sure this DWI will even stand. The kid blew a .09, just over the .08 limit. This is not a Josh Brent incident where the guy was absolutely drunk, Gordon was right on the line.

I don't consider someone who smokes a handful of times per year a regular smoker or a threat to anyone or anything at all, yet some will assume if they find a little then they a regular smoker which has more to do with it staying in your system longer then being a regular smoker...Consequently, misreads and labels come out.

Let me enlighten some of you. Everyone fucking smokes weed. I have Dr friends, lawyers, business owners, hot chics, ugly chics, and everyone in between. I know what your gonna say, "I don't". That's great. No one gives a fuck. You can throw cocaine in that mix of people, but not nearly as prevalent. But in relation to this story you have to be smarter than this guy was. You don't let it get in the way of your career. That goes for anything. I've seen alcohol destroy more lives than any drug. Personally I could take it or leave it. If I happen to run into you somewhere and you have some good weed I'm gonna smoke with you, but not if I'm getting drug tested anytime soon. It's just weed. Alcohol is so much worse.

The value of the illicit drug market is extremely difficult to estimate. The few serious attempts which have been made have resulted in widely varying figures.

A United Nations publication of 1998, "Economic and Social Consequences of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking," states that:

"With estimates of $100 billion to $110 billion for heroin, $110 billion to $130 billion for cocaine, $75 billion for cannabis and $60 billion for synthetic drugs, the probable global figure for the total illicit drug industry would be approximately $360 billion. Given the conservative bias in some of the estimates for individual substances, a turnover of around $400 billion per annum is considered realistic."

Thats a lot of rich ugly people with zits buying drugs wouldn't you say?
