Orlando at Washington, 7:05 p.m. ET: The Magic just beat the Wizards on Friday night, but have since lost Aaron Gordon to an ankle sprain sufferered in practice that could keep him out here. Orlando's top forward was held out last night's 115-89 win in New York that was over after a 30-10 first-quarter posted by the visitors. Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier led the way, but it was a collective effort that stifled the Knicks throughout. Rookie Mo Bamba has begun to find some consistency and is fortifying a second unit that has the potential to really become a factor.

The Wizards trailed by as many as 25 points in Orlando despite strong play from Kelly Oubre and Jeff Green off the bench but bounced back with a win in Miami on Saturday and saw Austin Rivers contribute 18 points off the bench. It's imperative that the Wizards get their top eight to find some consistency, but Otto Porter, Jr. continues to underachieve and the talk of moving John Wall to shake things up and pull the plug on this current group has intensified.

Philadelphia at Miami, 7:35 p.m. ET: Jimmy Butler has been acquired by the 76ers in a move we'll dissect more over the coming days in terms of long-term impact and short-term betting advantages, but he's out of the equation tonight. The 76ers will have to play shorthanded once again after doing so on Saturday night when they squandered a late lead in Memphis. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons led the way while guards J.J. Redick, T.J. McConnell and Landry Shamet enjoyed heightened roles setting the table, so look for that to again be the case tonight. Notice you didn't read Markelle Fultz's name. He got less than 25 minutes of playing time despite the opportunity to carve out more. Furkan Korkmaz and Jonah Bolden were dusted off to absorb some of the loss with starting forwards Robert Covington and Dario Saric dealt, but it appears Philly will go small until Butler is set to join the lineup.

The Heat are cautiously optimistic that the Hassan Whiteside who showed up last week will continue to dominate without sabotaging himself via bad shots or stupid fouls, but there's no question the team has an edge when he taps into his vast potential. Dwyane Wade has been away from the team after becoming a father again, while Goran Dragic has been in and out of the mix with a sore knee but looks healthy enough to be counted on here. Josh Richardson has taken advantage of the absence of Dragic and Wade to take more of an ownership role in the offense that will hopefully carry forward.

Preview: Magic at Wizards
Gracenote
Nov 11, 2018

The Washington Wizards have a chance to post consecutive wins for the first time this season when they begin a five-game homestand Monday against the Orlando Magic. The Wizards lost by at least 19 points the first two times they had a chance to record a second straight victory but are feeling a bit better about themselves this time around.

"It was probably one of our best games, how we played," Washington coach Scott Brooks told reporters after Saturday's 116-110 win at Miami. "We played a physical brand, we fought for one another and I thought we made timely passes and shots." John Wall led the way with 28 points and nine assists while both Dwight Howard and Jeff Green recorded double-doubles for Washington, which had its best offensive output since Oct. 24. The victory allowed the Wizards to move on from a 117-108 loss at Orlando the night before. Nikola Vucevic registered 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Magic to that win and duplicated those numbers in Sunday's 115-89 road triumph over New York.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, FS Florida (Orlando), NBCS Washington

ABOUT THE MAGIC (6-7): Orlando had no issues getting by the Knicks despite being without forward Aaron Gordon, who sat due to an ankle injury. Rookie Mo Bamba helped pick up some of the slack with 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots in 18 minutes off the bench. Bamba has scored 30 points over 35 minutes in Orlando's back-to-back victories.

ABOUT THE WIZARDS (3-9): Perhaps the best development in Saturday's game - aside from a rare victory - was the emergence of reserve guard Austin Rivers, who produced a season-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting. "You work hard all summer, throughout the season, to prepare yourself for those type of moments," Wall told reporters of Rivers. "Austin got into a great rhythm." Green is providing some nice support off the bench as well, as he is 15-for-21 from the floor over his last three games.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Howard is averaging 11.3 rebounds over his last four games after grabbing just three on Nov. 2 in his season debut against Oklahoma City.

2. Magic SG Terrence Ross scored a season-high 22 points off the bench Sunday.

3. Washington has won three straight home meetings with Orlando.

Preview: 76ers at Heat
Gracenote
Nov 11, 2018

The Philadelphia 76ers threw their chips on the table with a blockbuster trade this weekend and hope it creates a spark when they visit the struggling Miami Heat on Monday night. The 76ers sent two of their top five scorers in Dario Saric and Robert Covington (fourth and fifth), along with Jerryd Bayless, to Minnesota in a deal for shooting guard Jimmy Butler on Saturday and the All-Star could make his debut in Miami.

“I think he’s going to help us a lot - offensively and especially defensively, too,” Philadelphia’s leading scorer Joel Embiid told reporters. “I think he’s one of the best defensive players in the league. I’m excited to see where he takes us and how much better we’re going to look.” The 76ers, who defeated the Heat in five games during the first round of the 2017-18 playoffs, dropped a 112-106 decision against Memphis on Saturday to open a three-game trip that ends Wednesday in Orlando. Miami has lost its past two games at home and five of the last seven overall as it continues to struggle on the defensive end after finishing fourth in the league in points per contest allowed in 2017-18. “We had moments where we competed defensively. We had other moments that I didn’t recognize our team,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters after a 116-110 loss to Washington on Saturday. “That’s what we’re dealing with right now is finding some level of consistency to things that matter to us.”

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, NBCS Philadelphia, FS Sun (Miami)

ABOUT THE 76ERS (8-6): Embiid, averaging 27.7 points along with 13.1 rebounds, told reporters he is sure Butler is willing to fit in and chemistry will be a big factor with three players already averaging 15 points - including Ben Simmons (17.4) and JJ Redick (15.0). “Our culture is winning, playing together as a team and playing hard,” Simmons told the media. “I think he’s going to bring that.” Embiid hopes to rebound from a 4-for-15 shooting performance against Memphis while Redick is just 6-for-28 from 3-point range in the past four contests, but Simmons is averaging 19 points in a four-game span.

ABOUT THE HEAT (5-7): Guard Goran Dragic (16.1 points, second on the team) returned from a two-game absence due to knee inflammation Saturday, but missed all seven shots from the field and did not score. Josh Richardson leads the way for Miami at 20.8 points per contest and is averaging 23 in November while center Hassan Whiteside has registered 18.3 points and 18 rebounds per game in the last three. Veteran Dwyane Wade could miss his fourth straight game to be with his wife for the birth of their child, but fellow guard Rodney McGruder is coming off a season-high 22-point effort against Washington.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Miami F Kelly Olynyk averaged 12.7 points in three regular-season games against the 76ers last season and 12.8 in the playoffs.

2. Philadelphia also acquired C Justin Patton, a former first-round pick, in the Butler deal but he is out with a foot injury.

3. Whiteside leads the league with 3.55 blocks per game and sits second in rebounding (15.5).

Preview: Pelicans at Raptors
Gracenote
Nov 11, 2018

The New Orleans Pelicans got the chance to correct some things and notch a pair of wins at home against the Chicago Bulls and the Phoenix Suns, but things are about to get tougher. The Pelicans will get a chance to show just how much progress they've really made since a six-game losing streak when they visit the NBA-best Toronto Raptors on Monday in the opener of a two-game trip.

The Pelicans surrendered an average of 123.7 points during the six-game slide but held both Chicago and Phoenix under 100 and came out of the two-game homestand feeling good about themselves. "It was real big for us," New Orleans forward Anthony Davis told reporters of earning the two wins. "You know you can't get too far down in the West or it's going to be trouble trying to get back up in the standings, so, for us to come back home and take care of home court, it was big time for us. It gives us a little confidence going into two tough games. You know they (Toronto Raptors) are the number one team in the East, right, so it's going to be another big road trip for us. We've got to come out with both of them." The Raptors are enjoying a six-game winning streak and opened a three-game homestand by cruising past the New York Knicks 128-112 on Saturday. Stars Kyle Lowry and Kawhi Leonard combined for just 13 field-goal attempts as Toronto showed off the depth of its roster in the easy win.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, NBATV, FS New Orleans, Sportsnet One (Toronto)

ABOUT THE PELICANS (6-6): Davis enjoyed a pair of solid games in the brief homestand and New Orleans got a big boost on Saturday from reserve power forward Julius Randle, who stepped into the starting lineup with Nikola Mirotic (ankle) unable to go. Randle delivered 22 points and 15 rebounds in a season-high 38 minutes while adding three assists and a pair of blocks. "He (did) a good job finding his niche with this team," Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry told reporters of Randle. "Knowing when to roll, knowing when to post up, and knowing when to step out on the floor. He does a good job pushing the ball when he rebounds it. It is just a good fit all-around for our team."

ABOUT THE RAPTORS (12-1): Toronto had 10 players record at least six field-goal attempts in Saturday's win, and the team's depth is impressing its opponents. "That's why they're so good," Knicks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. told reporters after Saturday's contest. "They have that supporting cast that comes into the game and they take care of business. It's as simple as that. They came down there and made their open shots, got to the free-throw line, defended pretty well." Power forward Pascal Siakam recorded a career-high 23 points on 6-of-7 shooting in the win while center Jonas Valanciunas collected 19 points and 10 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Mirotic (ankle) and PG Elfrid Payton (ankle) are both day-to-day for the Pelicans.

2. Raptors SG OG Anunoby is averaging 14.7 points on 19-of-32 shooting over the last three games.

3. Toronto is enjoying a six-game winning streak in the series.

Preview: Mavericks at Bulls
Gracenote
Nov 11, 2018

The Dallas Mavericks will try to build off an impressive home win while attempting to pick up their first road victory of the season when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Monday. After falling to 0-6 on the road with a loss at Utah on Wednesday, the Mavericks snapped Oklahoma City's seven-game winning streak with a 111-96 triumph on Saturday to improve to 4-2 at home.

Rookie Luka Doncic scored 22 points and J.J. Barea added 21 off the bench as Dallas shot a season-high 55.8 percent from the field. Doncic added eight assists and six rebounds in 31 minutes and allowed his teammates and coaches to breathe a sigh of relief when he returned from a knee issue that caused him to take a seat for a chunk of time in the second half. The 19-year-old had 19 points and six assists in a 115-109 win over the Bulls at home earlier this season. Chicago fell to 0-3 with that loss but is 4-6 since then after picking up a 99-98 win over Cleveland at home Saturday night.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, FS Southwest (Dallas), NBCS Chicago

ABOUT THE MAVERICKS (4-8): Barea led a bench that produced 53 points while welcoming back veteran guard Devin Harris (six points, three assists in 12 minutes) from a hamstring strain that had kept him out of action since the season opener. "It's good to be back with my guys," Harris told reporters. "Nothing special, just tried to get in the paint, create shots for others. Energy is what I'm trying to bring. I'm just glad we got the win. That's all I care about." Franchise great Dirk Nowitzki has yet to play following ankle surgery but he said Saturday that he is feeling better about a possible return this month.

ABOUT THE BULLS (4-9): With several key players injured for all or most of the season, much of this campaign has been about finding someone to support Zach LaVine, who scored 24 points against the Cavaliers on Saturday -- his 13th straight game of 20 or more to begin the season. Second-year guard Ryan Arcidiacono stepped up in the win with a personal-best 15 points while making his first career start. "(Arcidiacono) is a guy who is going to go out there and play with toughness," Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg told the media. "He's somebody we feel deserves this opportunity to go out there. He gets us extra possessions. He gets you into things offensively."

BUZZER BEATERS

1. LaVine had 34 points on 11-of-15 shooting in the loss at Dallas last month.

2. Mavericks C DeAndre Jordan had nine rebounds against Oklahoma City, the first game all season in which he has failed to grab at least 10.

3. Bulls F Wendell Carter Jr. is 12-for-17 from the floor over his last two games.

Preview: Jazz at Grizzlies
Gracenote
Nov 11, 2018

Despite some shooting woes, Mike Conley's ability to return from an injury-plagued 2017-18 season has made the Memphis Grizzlies a factor once again in the Western Conference. The Utah Jazz know all about that fact and will try for a third time to defeat Conley and the Grizzlies when the teams meet in Memphis on Monday.

Conley averaged 25.5 points and six rebounds in a pair of wins over the Jazz earlier this season -- shooting 34.2 percent -- and registered a season-high 32 in Saturday's 112-106 overtime win against Philadelphia. "I'm not going to lie," Conley told reporters after finding a rhythm and making 12-of-24 shots against the 76ers. "These whole last couple of weeks have been like just barely missing, barely not making shots, and missing shots I would normally make and feeling good while doing it." The Jazz were on the mark while shooting a season-high 55.8 percent in Friday's 123-115 win over the Boston Celtics at home. Joe Ingles matched a career high with 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain (Utah), FS Southeast (Memphis)

ABOUT THE JAZZ (6-6): Ingles was 6-for-27 from the floor over his previous three games before finding the stroke against the Celtics while chipping in a season-high seven assists. Donovan Mitchell added 21 points and Jae Crowder had 20 for Utah, which won two in a row following a four-game losing streak. "We all have picked it up, picked up our energy defensively, picked our focus up," Mitchell told reporters. "We've been having great practices, but we just didn't put it into the games. I think over the past couple of games, we've done that."

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (7-4): Although some shots haven't fallen from time to time, Conley's presence has a massive impact on the rest of the team, something that was missing for all but 12 games last season. "He's been working his tail off," coach J.B. Bickerstaff told the media. "He understands how vital he is to us, the load that he has to bear. He's been getting in extra work." The same is true for veteran center Marc Gasol, who recorded his second straight double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds against the Sixers.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Gasol averages 17.8 points on 47.8 percent shooting at home, compared to 12.2 on 33.3 percent on the road.

2. Jazz C Rudy Gobert averaged 14 rebounds and was 7-for-11 from the floor in the two earlier losses to Memphis.

3. Grizzlies F Kyle Anderson had a career-high 14 rebounds in Saturday's win.

PREDICTION: Grizzlies 107, Jazz 104
