Folks are all getting bent because the investigators are not talking to the Smiths. Think about it, what are they investigating? Here is what I see;
1. Was there an incident(s)? Yes (whether the incident has merit or not is irrelevant)
2. Were they reported by those who knew? Appears Yes for 2015
3. Was the incident investigated as required by law? To be determined
4. Was the incident investigated as required by Ohio State administrative rules? To be determined
5. Were any other OSU administrative rules broken? Like public lying that brings disrespect to the university. Yes
5. Who are responsible for any violations and what recommended penalty should be issued.
The jury is still out on Meyer, though Vegas seems to think that a 6 game suspension is in the works. D.J. Dunkin at Maryland will not be that lucky. It seems as if this guy is a real arsehole. The University visited the family of the player who passed and took full legal responsibility for his passing. Dunkin and others are finished.

When Tressel was fired Ohio State had a choice, vacate the wins of the offending players who by then graduated, or punish the current team that had nothing to do with it. They punished their current team because WINNING TRUMPS EVERYTHING at Ohio State. Could not give up any win!! That punished team went undefeated and NO bowl game, no ranking, NO NOTHING.
