Marcus's arm is plenty strong enough, his speed is plenty fast enough, and his frame is plenty big enough. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and seems pretty smart (more than JW)....the thing about MM that puts him in the special category is his willingness to work hard. You see guys like Peyton putting in ridiculous hours trying to learn and improve....MM may not be at his talent level but I think his dedication may be on par....and that is something 99% of the guys who have NFL talent don't have.

I don't see where the MM being a bust comes from. Just because he was in a system he is really getting criticized!

I'm not even saying he'll be a bust necessarily. Just that taking him #2 is ridiculous. No system QB has ever had much long term NFL success. There have been like 10 drafted in the 1st round and not one of them amounted to anything. How are you going to take a guy at #2 as a system QB considering he had all day to throw and the WRs he threw to were wide open? Everyone has success at QB in Oregon's offense. In the few collegiate games where Mariota faced a decent defense he looked like a shell of his former self. Add that all up and all the measurables in the world won't convince me that this guy is worth the risk at the #2 spot in the draft, much less the 1st round... We shall see.

I hope he proves me wrong. He seems like a good dude. I've just seen how this movie ends time and time again over the last 20 years so I don't expect much.

I hope tears his ACL in week 2 next year running one of his pointless read options, then develops a heroin problem

Jake, fair point. I agree that system QBs have a bad history. I'm just saying since he is from Hawaii I got nonstop media (biased) and got a more close look of this skill set and personal persona....i think he will succeed.

Vlad, I do think you have a legit point. The only way he is a bust is if he gets pounded to shit by big NFL defenses, then becomes a scared shell of his former self similar to RG3

Mr. Dinosaur. He will be hurt and not have 16 starts next year, then progressively get worse, then see less reps, management will debate if he is a starter. We see this crap all the time but somehow "he will be different". Then a team will bring him in in 2019 to compete for a starting job. BTW, that team will suck and not have a plan. That head coach will be fired in year 2. He will be cut then go in to broadcasting.

Yea, their white pocket passing qbs really did a stellar job last year. Even Jesus couldn't save that team.

I am just sick of hearing his name. Between Winston, Mariotta, Mayweather, and Pacquio. you dont hear enough about those 4 guys. I don't really wish injury on the guy, but dont be surprised if it happens.

I absolutely knocked it out on the park on this one.

Told you he would suck. Look at how many defended him.

Too many to name.

His record against the Colts is about as identical to the Texans record against the Colts

Luck missed 1 year: 3-13

Mariotta hasn't missed much time. Maybe 8 games total.

Colts have won playoff games. Titans have not

Don't even compare the 2. That is just laughable
