^^^That's not about Marcus Mariota. That's Darron Thomas, the Oregon QB before Mariota who is now trying to find a spot in Arena Football.

He also had "everything to succeed in the NFL" apparently.

You missed my point. I'm just saying that scouts said many of the same things about Thomas as they do about Mariota. Both are largely products of the system. NFL guys were right letting Thomas fall, and I think they're making a mistake not doing the same for Mariota. In the very few collegiate games he had against top defenses he didn't look that great...

That's true but people were talking about David Carr, Tim Tebow, David Klingler, Kevin Kolb, Andre Ware, etc etc. I just don't think you invest a 1st or 2nd round pick in a system QB. Too many unknowns.
