Utah played an unmotivated Alabama team that did not want to be playing in that bowl. Plus Alabama was without their best player, their left tackle. They ran the ball behind him prolly 70% of the time and he was the main reason for their success this year.

Alabama was in it for the SEC championship then the national championship. When they lost to Florida they packed it in. Alabama would have destroyed Utah had they played 2 or 3 games before the SEC championship.

The Florida Utah line assuming both teams are motivated would be Florida -17.

The Alabama line with their left tackle and with motivation would be -14 against Utah. Utah just does not have the talent except at QB.

He also said.

White said the 13-0 Utes — who beat Alabama, 31-17, in the Sugar Bowl — would have been fortunate to finish among his final top 20.

Really, the top 20????? :ohno:

Come on FH, I love you buddy and think no different of you but I think you have to admit you might be wrong on this one. This is a weak argument on your part, calling out Kenny White.

No reason too take shots on him. I have heard him on the radio a handful of times in my life and this guy has it together. I think he does a great job and I know a bunch of sharps who respect the hell out of him and havent hear anyone have say that he isnt a very bright guy. I think it is pretty safe to say his numbers are stronger then anyone's here (and most likely anywhere in the world).

Alabama was not predicted to do well this season due to lack of skill players and lack of team speed...They outcoached everyone they played...Against Utah they were unmotivated and they were playing ON TURF........That made their lack of speed a huge negative...Fla has no such problems and i agree the line would be 20/21

The spread and the result 2 diffrent things. UTah has a good defensive unit. Florida is not as good as Oklahoma, that was put on display in Miami despite the result. Florida easy to defend, just load up the box and make a guy who cant throw, try to throw it. Brian Johnson a very underrated qb, UTah would be right there with them. Florida would be stuck 14-21 at halftime vs USC especially if Ellison and Havili are healthy.
