The Saints were leading the game 13-0 and 20-10.

The Saints had the lead after the missed call.

The Saints got the ball 1st in OT

The best thing to do if you want to win a championship is not expect the refs to make a call so you win the game.

The tuck rule shady call for the Pats is what started their dynasty.....are you saying ridiculous & blatant calls shouldn't be scrutinized? Sure Saints could have played better, but you can not allow these refs to change the outcome of a game on a blatant non call.

Was odd the receiver just pop up and trotted off.

For 2 of the better coaches in the game they sure did a lot of dumb things.

helmet to helmet was worse. is what it is. one team played on and won the other chose to be a victim.

even with the non call saints still had a lead. they were in a position to win.
refs put the responsibility on the saints defense to win the game and they didn't.
didn't know refs could kick 57 yard field goals either

The point is the Saints D shouldn't have been in a position to win the game. The Saints should've been lined up to kick the game winner as time expired :ohno:

but that's not what i'm trying to argue. everyone knows the outcome of the game if it is called correctly. thanks for pointing out the obvious.

4 stops and a W and this missed call still would have led to a win.
people say the call robbed the saints of the game. the call did not prevent the saints from taking the lead. the call left more time on the clock, but did not take the opportunity for the win out of their hands. there are two sides to this game, and defense is one of them.

saints wanted less time on the clock. guess what? should have run the ball. peyton knows the risks with passing and went for the jugular. he missed and got punished for it as well with the no call. tried to be cute like pete carroll putting the ball in the qb's hands. guess what play the patriots ran for the final touchdown against the falcons? run play. there is nobody above the team, not even tom brady. they did the right play and won the game. bellichek doesn't force the ball into brady's hands to make him the hero.
saints fans wanted another chance
guess what. they call that overtime. and in overtime they didn't capitalize. overtime at home with the 12th man is what the saints played for all season. they squandered that advantage.

every time someone says the nfl gave the rams the game, it's unfortunate because guys like johnson and zuerline made incredible plays and you are all discrediting them and the win they earned. they took the opportunities that were presented to them. a 57 yard fg is no joke. you act like that was some kind of "gift". it wasn't. they trained all season for this game and they left 100% on the field. they know they got away with a penalty but they moved on like professionals should. they didn't pout and feel sorry for themselves down 13-0.

And if on the previous possession the facemask was called on the Goff run at the three yard line, chances are the Saints would still have need a TD after the missed PI call just to tie!

He likes to ignore things that don't support his narrative.

On another note, did you notice the poor sportsmanship by the Saints fans. Whenever the Rams had the ball and were about to snap it, there were all these whistles going off in the crowd.

Well said halekulani,

The on-going problem with enfuego (it's typical for him) and a myriad of others of the people complaining about the "no-call" is they simply have blinders on and refuse to recognize that there was over 60 minutes of other things that happened in that game. You can cherry pick the one play all you want, but to ignore everything else that went on just shows your lack of objectivity and your intellectual rigidity (what else can you say about people that ignore everything else that's been said). There were countless blown opportunities for the Saints, where they had to settle for field goals because the Rams defense stopped them (Saints need to take some personal responsibility for that). A whistle was being blown all throughout the game when the Rams had possession of the ball just prior to snapping (where was the Saints security staff?). You honestly don't think that has an impact?

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/s...nnoys-twitter/

The officials blew a call on the Rams drive prior to the helmet-to-helmet that would have put the Rams in a pretty good position to score a touchdown (but yes, keep ignoring that). Both Aikman and Buck said it as they showed the reply on an obvious missed call. The impact to the game is no different than what happened to the Saints. That would have required the Saints to score a touchdown to tie the game up.

The Saints could have stopped the Rams on their final drive and prevented them from scoring a field goal (Saints need to take some personal responsibility for that).

The Saints win the coin toss in OT and Brees proceeds to throw an interception (Saints need to take some personal responsibility for that).

But you folks can just continue to ignore all these inconvenient details. In the end, the Rams are in the Superbowl and the Saints organization will be watching the game on TV, having an ice cream cone. I'm a football fan that understands that these things happen so I don't sit around and whine about it. Get over it because all your complaining in the world isn't going to change the scoreboard and the result.

The Saints lost. Deal with it.

No, what I'm saying is that NFL officiating is bad, inconsistent, and therefore you cannot expect them to give you a call in a big moment.

The officials missed a facemask on Goff that would have given the Rams a 1st and goal at the 1 and subsequently the lead. Nobody is talking about that.
