HARRY YOU DA MAN!!!!

Best of luck with your plays. And big thanks for your insights throughout the year.

Like many have stated, I'm waffling big time on this years winner......valid points on both sides.

Experience vs novelty. Belichicks compendium. NE healthy...vs rams likely missing Gurley. I think the rams have a slight defensive and special team edge. NE a significant edge at QB. And a big unknown for McVey. Both good and bad. Has he tightened up a little down the stretch. Hard to fault him when they win. But without "the call" do they win? (N.O shut the f**k up already!)

Lastly, I wonder if subconsciously the refs will call it a little tighter vs the rams D? Not wanting to catch the grief, their pals did last week. I'll probably end up teasing the rams and the over.

Strange, I was born outside of Boston, and lived in S.Cal since 1952. Van Brocklin, Hirsch, Fears and Tank Younger. I admit to awe for the champs and hometown bias for the rams....i.e., to flying blind.

Thanks to all who contribute. See you next year. BOL 2 all!!

The "No way the Rams cover" in the thread title is kind of a scarry statement. Good luck to you.

Stanley Sellers> Patriots win 31-27

Stanley Sellers >>>The last time these two teams met in a Super Bowl the Patriots upset the Rams. I don't expect there to be anything upsetting about this Super bowl. bet with your mind and not your emotions,,,, most people hate the patriots so much that they are constantly picking against them out of hate and not reason,,,, you can hate the patriots all you want but come sunday. The patriots will have won their 6th super bowl and the whole world will be livid!! These teams are actually pretty evenly matched, and i don't expect either team to run away with it. But I do expect both teams to try to establish the run game through the first half. The Patriots will run the ball to keep the L.A. pass rush from pressuring Tom Brady. The Rams will run the ball to keep Tom Brady off the field. The second half will probably feature more passing as it progresses, and more scoring too. I give the edge to the Patriots; too many weapons, too much experience, too brilliant a coach who knows how to exploit every scouted weakness.Big advantage to old experience teams. NEs offense will have a big day against the Rams line backers. If you thought Kamara had a big game. NEs RBs will have a field day against the Rams line backers. Rams will score. But Brady has a big advantage over Goff. Belichick's defense will do enough to get the win. Patriots win 31-27

Mr Hat

Good luck for the big game.

Thanks for your help with the staking advice.

I like Patriots in this one, and agree with your analysis.

Brady gets the ball out fast negating any LA pass rush.

I also like the match-up of Belichick v Goff, where I expect Belichik to have a clear edge.

I expect the Rams will try and put some big hits on key Pats players [late or legal won't matter to them], to try and take them out of the game.

Also, can't see the NFL hoping for a Rams's win after the missed call v Saints that got them to the SB. They would prefer a post game narrative of Brady/Belichik blah. blah, blah rather than more discussion about refereeing.

So I expect the zebra's to at least be neutral or to slightly favor of the Pats.

Hmmm join date 2006

I originally posted under the name Big Lou and left the site for a few years, hence the current moniker of Big Lou Returns.

Everyone thought I was smoking crack predicting a Patriots win over the Rams back in 2001. I'm used to taking heat for my selections, that's nothing new!

Yes, and I bet on Edwin Moses 122 races in a row, then said "that is it, no more" and I pulled away (used different name then).
Today, the Pats, Brady? Only 10 points?

The Rams defense is coming together at the right time and if anyone can come up with a winning game plan for their defense, it's Wade Phillips.

I agree, and have been saying for weeks that the Rams DL (four #1 draft choices, pro bowlers) would unleash hell in the playoffs, they were coasting the 2nd half of the season. They are fired up, now, playing for all the marbles.

The whole game, to me, is the Rams DL vs the Pats O strategy & their OL
and how Belicheat will adjust to make sure Brady can get the ball away quickly to White, Edelman and a few secondary targets... especially the first half, Rams will still be good but will tire in the 2nd half, they all do, then Brady can throw deeper patterns. If the Pats OL can hold* in the first half enough for Brady to throw mid and deep patterns, whoa, it will be big trouble for the Rams.

Pats OL is good but Rams DL is great, and on fast AT. Brady and Belicheat have known this for 2 weeks and even though Donald is great they will find a way to get by and win. I also believe Gurley is not 100% and even if he plays will not be his explosive self. No I do not advocate a BIG wager on NE.
